{12 photos, for those gathering on dial-up}

as we were wandering through the meijer gardens and sculpture park yesterday, i noticed that although i was drawn to photograph the sculptures (for the 100th time, although they are always captivating), most of my photos were of nature's art. how could i help myself?

the trees were turning, the sun was shining, and life is good. here are a few photos, both from man and nature. isn't it great, that we got to experience it all? come walk with me...

How wonderful it is to see your lovely photos - such sheer brilliance on the page that my morning has brightened. You wonderful daughter and your sheer genius sparkle out of the photos like a smile. As always the photos of water are stunning but here I find the frog and the leaves simply wonderful. I want all of them.

joanne - i've written abt it here before - esp the butterfly exhibit in late winter. gorgeous!! you should go. it is so much fun! try to go when it is still warmer out, and you can walk the sculpture park loop. well worth it!!

i love the frog, the butterfly and the birds-- there's a mtropnome like thingie here in prague, too where Klaus stuck up a communicst-sized bilboard of himself when he rand in the election as president, which is illegal

and it blew away, too.

As always, your photos launch us into such a world of beauty. I am especially fond of that beautiful blue relfective photo of the glass cubes (or whatever they are) . . . and that wonderful grass.

I Love pictures with back-light as in the grasses that shine like ice. And the glow of enriched red of leaves= hot and cold. Also, impressed with water sculpers: geometric shapes seem ellusive in the light, while their black reflections are more solid. Wonderful photos!

Jessie: I believe you did it just right. The thing about outdoor sculpture is that they interact with their natural settings. Your juxtaposing formal art with natural art is precise and telling.
