True love is where you care about the others happiness as well as your own. Love is sacrifice compromise and growing. Love is when you want to be with the person during the bad days as well as the good. Love foremost is never hurting the other intentionally. Meaning thinking before acting or talking!!!
Hi! I never had any idea what love was all about until I had a child. That opened my heart to a level of caring that I never knew I was capable of. In loving my children, I will do whatever I need to do to keep them safe, to try to guide them onto their life path, to provide them with the tools they need to grow and mature and be wonderful human beings. I would do anything that I had to do to provide these things for my children. My needs are fulfilled in seeing their needs fulfulled. That is what love is to me.
David... love is having someone you can reach out to when you have a bad dream or a panic attack...true love is someone who reaches out to you, knowing before you do that they are needed.....
When you find out, let me know! I like the definitions of all the commenters above, but do you really think you'll find the answer on the internet, David? I think you will only find it through trial and error -- it's an intensely personal experience and I bet the definition is different for each person. Why do you ask this? Just wondering cause I'm nosy.

What a great question!! I've wondered myself if there really IS an answer to that one. I think the definition of love is different for everyone. Personally, I have no idea how to answer that one!
Love. It's having that person who doesn't care if you look like hell in the morning before your cup of coffee, if you're not a morning person and they are, it's ok, we adjust. It's having a lover, best friend, confidante all wrapped up in one. It's still having that same person when you get older and look it as do they, and they see you still as beautiful to them as they look farther than that, they look INSIDE.
Love is wonderful yet painful, patient yet demanding. Love is kind yet tiring, love is passionate, sacred, timid, unconditional, loyal, lustful, and very misunderstood.

I am defiantly the wrong person to ask this to being married 4 times and assuming I found love all those times.
But I have learned Love is not just something you can find.
Love is unconditional caring for another human being. actually it goes way beyond caring.
Love makes you want to do kind acts unconditionaly.
Love gives you strength to believe in your self and others.
And before a human being can understand true love they must first learn to Love them self's...
