Lessons earned.
Promise.
Wry smiles,
when I remember
just how much
in awe
we were.
Perfection.
Respectful
of the unspoken.
When asked,
it all fell apart.
Half dreams,
hopes split.
Truth broke as
visions of stairwells
still haunt me.
Kiss'd me,
you did...
o'er and o'er
again.
N'er did I find
another reason
to smile so
bittersweet.
Reflection
of a sadness I
could not hold,
for it was not mine
to keep.
Did you hear the latch
slide behind you?
I wish you well
and not here.
For where you and I
may meet again,
is still hidden
behind the dark clouds
you choose to live in.
