I've read here many times that people want to do more for Joe overseas and below are listed some websites that do what they can to help them. If you do not support the fighting, remember those kids are not not your enemy. They are Americans doing something they generally believe in and sometimes getting killed or injured doing so. Support those over there and the ones back here either as still serving or getting back into the civilian world. They deserve our support and respect, all politics aside!
I got these website addresses off my son's family support group newsletter; most, if not all, have been vetted by the Armed Forces various investigative services but if you feel iffy about one look at another. I have donated to several of them....
Thanks

the military is not responsible for administration policy, so i hope everyone supports those troops that are doing such a great job under very trying circumstances.
Joe can use all kinds of things, baby wipes, beef jerky/sticks, magazines & books, socks, flavored drink mixes, playing cards, travelling type games (dominoes etc) canned potato snacks...the only limit is your imagination. My son says they get tons of candy (they often give it to the Iraqi or Afghani kids) but its all appreciated!
Forward those addresses to your friends, the holidays are coming!
Thanks again
One other thing if you have school age children, most schools have an adopt a soldier program. Where kids are given the name and mailing address of service member.
My full support goes to the souls of all soldiers in every force on the planet - even those who consider each other the worst sort of enemies. I believe they're all battling for only one thing in the end, and that is true Freedom. They just have different ways of seeing what that might be, and therefore different ways of using their will and their hearts.
I thank you for making these addresses available - thank you for your gift of good will.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OPERATION HELMET provides helmet upgrade kits free of charge to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as to those ordered to deploy in the near future. These helmet upgrades do three primary things:
Protection - Shock-absorbing pads keep the helmet from slapping the skull when hit with blast forces, fragments, or being tumbled along the ground or inside a vehicle. This decreases the chance of brain injury from bombs, RPG's, vehicle accidents, falls, etc.
Comfort - If it is comfortable, it will stay on troop's head longer and more often.
Stability - Keeps the helmet firmly on the head and out of the eyes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once all troops are provided the blast/impact protecting helmet upgrades, we will utilize residual funds to help other charities providing for rehabilitation and support of our wounded troops and their families. We are researching several charities and will support those we find to be well managed, little or AT LEAST MINIMAL administrative fees and have a proven track record of helping our wounded warriors cope with their injuries and return to either civilian or military life.
People need touo realize that "support the troops" is more than just a slogan.
Instant Patriotism: Just add Lawn Flag seems to be a popular recipe these days.
and one need not support the war to give REAL support to the heroes fighting it.
Thank you.
My kids have been wanting to do something like this now they can.
My oldest wants to send Bibles over there for them to give out. I don't know if that's allowed for the Muslim's or not but my little girl (7) says they need to know who God is or they wont get anything for Christmas and I told her they didn't have Christmas over there. Not the people that live their that is. She looked at me shocked.
