Today my train in to Boston was delayed for just over 30 minutes. Being a Monday morning, I wasn't too thrilled about getting to work anyway, so it didn't bother me much. I got to chat a little longer with the people around me and found out something valuable. When the commuter rail is delayed for more than 30 minutes, you get a refund on your fair. Just fill out the On-Time Service Guarantee Claim Form on the MBTA website, and you'll get a refund in the mail within 4-6 weeks.
I completed the form first thing when I got to the office this morning so that I wouldn't forget. We'll see how long it takes to get to me.
