Game - Worst Meal You've Ever Had

I honestly cant think of anything. I love food. I dont eat much sweets but I do eat alot of veggies. When I was a child we didnt have much to eat. We raised all our food but if it was a hard winter, it went fast. I learned to eat just about anything and not complain.

An undercooked and fermenting B.L.T. that set off warning alarms which I foolishly ignored. About 5 hours later I was the sickest I have ever been. Vomiting, Extreme Lower Gastro-Intestinal Distress coupled with cramping of countless muscles, including the TOPS of my feet! I'm sure I took at least a year off the life of my liver with that horrible (and so easily avoidable!) experience.

Hmmm. . .Sorry, I can't really think of one.

When I was a child, we lived in Ethiopia. Someone had brought my family some wild boar meat, which my mother attempted to cook. It was so horrible that even the dog wouldn't have anything to do with it!

Can't think of anything right now, but when I do I'll let you know.

Once my husband and I ordered grilled chicken at Shoneys. The chicken was done on the outside but raw on the inside.

I also got food poisoning from veal parmigiana that I ordered at a coffee shop in the early 1960's

tuna. It doesn't even have to be spoiled. I just think it's nasty.

seafood (i love it but i learned as an adult, im allergic to it).

A waaaaaaaaaay undercooked filet mignon my brother grilled. I tried to eat what I could to keep from hurting his feelings but when blood began to run on the plate....I'd had enough!

My husband thought he would do me a favor and stop at a steak house for take out. It was rancid! Couldn't eat it! He called the restaurant, and they totally blew him off. We should have called the health department!

I probably had many "worst meals" but the one I am thinking right now was a home made meatloaf of some sort. It's an American dish so I can't really name it. But it's not the dish that was bad.... What happened was that the pot it was made in was used the day before to make chilis. And whoever washed the pot did not do a very good job. So I saw red left-over chilis (might even have left-over detergent on it from the poor washing) at the edge of the yellow cheesy meatloaf..... That was just YUCK. But in order to be polite, I ate just a little bit from the center of the pot and avoided the edges. Next day, someone was complaining that her stomach was acting up. I WONDER?!!?!?!?!? (sarcasm)

Wow, this is so weird. I just had to dump my yogurt in the trash since it was spoiled. We took some of this yogurt on a trip with us last week, and I think the fridge at the motel wasn't cold enough. It's turned and it was nasty! One bite and I scrubbed it! So, the worst meal is the one I just dumped in the trash.

I think the only meal I couldn't eat was when an Austrian man made me boiled spinach with a fried egg on top. I love spinach but I *hate* eggs. And I felt so bad because I know that he went to such an effort to cook me something.

Hate to even think about it, but, dinner aboard Eygyt Air 10 years ago from Istanbul to Cairo. If I could bottle it, I would have a miracle diet formula.

I was wondering how many of us got food poisoning from eating whatevers. Seems quite a few of us did!
TJ - Mark (husband) hates mushrooms so much he'd have gotten sick with the first bite! (go figure, I love 'em, guess what we never have?)

Sandra - hominy? Is that grits? Me too, if it is, though our son loves them... can't figure it out!

The yogurt, that is a weird coincidence but that's happened to me too. And I also dumped it.

Seafood, well shellfish, anykind, I'm allergic to also.

Wild Boar Meat? Ack!!!!!!! Haven't tried it, will never try it!

Peas I'm ok with, Mark hates them = I don't cook them.

Muggs? Fermenting undercooked BLT? Don't do that again!!!!!

Okra I like, fried, but again, Mark doesn't. See a pattern here? LOL

Onions, Jacob the only ones I can eat, are the Vidalia ones as they're sweet.

Sharila - I didn't know you could burn cauliflower, but then I don't cook it anymore, Yep Mark again ;)

Hospital food, I was hospitalized once for 3 weeks and when I got home my jeans were all too big for me.
