Essential Oils and Absolutes I've used in Womens Perfumes and Mens Aftershaves/Colognes.
First, buy from only reputable essential sellers. You could end up with a fake, and many of the more expensive ones are. It's fairly easy to duplicate a scent, even if they add fragrance oils which are full of chemicals. And how would you know, other than if you're like me and are allergic to fragrance oils? You wouldn't. And you'll pay a lesser price for these though you'll probably still pay too much and wish you'd known to buy the real thing.
Here are some of the blends I make, and I will be posting more.
Let's for ease of understanding, do all in one ounce bottles, sterilized by either running them through the dishwasher, using a 1-7% ratio of bleach and water, or using after hand-washing, a spritz of 70% rubbing alcohol - all of these methods will work, and you'll start out, after drying them, with a bacteria free bottle.
Keep in mind when blending, that what one of us likes, the other won't, this one is especially true with oils like (one of my favorites) Patchouli or Vetiver - there is no in-between. People have very strong opinions on these, especially Patchouli, and I still make it a lot, but I do use it in a blend.

Name your blends whatever you wish, I'm not listing them with the names I've given mine. And we'll assume mine will all be made with Jojoba oil, unless you wish to make enough for a massage oil, then I'd switch to fractionated coconut oil or grapeseed oil, or a mixture of both.
Lavender Blend
3 drops Lavender, Bulgarian essential oil.
5 drops Lavender French Hi Alt. essential oil.
2 drops Jasmine Absolute, or Ylang-Ylang Extra.
2 drops Sandalwood or Vetiver.
*Note, in this blend, the Hi Alt. Lavender can be your top note ,as some oils can be either, this is one.
The other lavender and the jasmine/ylang-ylang are middle notes.
The sandalwood/vetiver are bottom notes.
Blend together in your bottle. Cap tightly. Wait a day or so. Open and sniff. If you like it, you're done, other than adding your jojoba oil to fill the bottle. If it's too sweet, add a little sandalwood or vetiver, even oakmoss absolute with it's earthy-musky scent is nice. Not sweet enough? Add a drop of jasmine - or two of ylang-ylang, and one of lavender, bulgarian.
Let sit if you do this for another day. Sniff. Like it? You're done. This will be the way it is with "all" blends as you have your own personal tastes, go with it.

Rose-Floral Blend
5 drops of Rose Absolute (the one I'm currently using is from Russia, and it's got a bit of a spicy-rose scent to it), though all rose.
2 drops of either Jasmine Abs. or Ylang-Ylang II or Complete.
2 drops of Tansy (blue)
1 drop of lavender
3 drops of either vanilla absolute or benzoid resinoid (it's a fixative and smells like vanilla at a fraction of the price)

Citrus Patchouli
* This is an oil people either love or hate, fortunately we both love it ;)
2 drops Patchouli (light)
3 drops Patchouli (dark)
3 drops of Tangerine
3 drops of Ylang-ylang extra
If this is not sweet enough for you, add a little more ylang. If you'd like a spicy undertone, add about 2 drops of Cinnamon Leaf oil or Clove Bud.

Citrus Blend
2 drops of sweet orange oil
2 drops of tangerine oil
2 drops of mandarin (red) oil
3 drops of ylang-ylang (any kind, there are five different distillations of this oil)
3 drops of vetiver

Refreshmint blend
6 drops of lemon essential oil
4 drops of spearmint oil
This blend is a true unisex blend as both men and women use it.
It's uplifting and refreshing at the same time.

Lemony Blend
4 drops of Litsea Cubeba (very strong lemony scent)
2 drops of jasmine absolute (can sub. ylang-ylang extra)
3 drops of vanilla or benzoid oil
You will have a very lemony-sweet-vanilla scent.

Back when I did shiatsu type work I would blend some basic oils, but your writing of fragrance and allergies reminds me of a vivid event in my past.
Many years ago I encountered a men's cologne called - if I remember rightly - Havana Weed Oil ( could have been Havana Grass Oil) and I was utterly smitten with it!!. Ordered a bottle and when it arrived, I waited until a Sunday morning before church to dab it on here and there. Glowing with good will toward all, I asked my wonderfil wife what she thought of it. She replied that it was ..really..very..nice...and kind of unusu...un...uhhh..uhhhhhCHOOO achoo a-CHOO. A-CHOOOOO! Well - even after I washed off as best I could, we still had to drive with windows down, and several people sitting near us at church were quietly sniffing andsnuffling nose-blowing. Ah yes - golden memories. Since then, I seldom scent myself, and restrict my olfactory delights to use of incense, sage and cedar.
Cheri, for manicures and pedicures, you might want to switch to a different carrier oil, such as Meadowfoam Seed oil, Grapeseed or Hemp Seed or even Fractionated Coconut oil.
I'll post more blends as I'm fooling around making soap while being on here and I've just changed around my blends a little and they smell good ;) Besides, I haven't posted that many yet. I'm glad you're enjoying them.
The reason for the knowledge is ongoing studying, certification in aromatherapy (which means pretty much nothing in the USA, but means a lot more in Europe), and I've been doing this for well over 15 years. :)
I really appreciate the comments! :) All that typing was worth it, huh? lol
Yes, make-up has fragrance in it as well, though if you make your own, ie: mineral make-up, you leave out any fragrance and it's a natural product as well.
