Secretly, the Bush administration is persuing a policy to expand N.A.F.T.A. politically, setting the stage for a North American Union. What the Bush administration truley wants is the free, unimpended movement of people and goods across open borders with Canada and Mexico.
If the Bush administration actually accomplishes this feat, none of us will have to worry about the term " illegal immigrant " , because with free and open borders with Canada , there will be no such term. There will be a free flow of immigrants from Asia as well as Latin America., and many other places on the globe.
For all of you cheering the approval of a fence bewteen our border with Mexico, my advise is don't hold your breath untill it happens. If the Bush administration gets it's way with the North American Union, there will be no fence, and there will be no U.S.A.

I hope that everybody here is actually reading this article instead of "knitting and crocheting" and "stupid jokes for stupid people".
It's sad, but the 700 mile fence spectacle is just more smoke and mirrors coming from the Republicans designed to distract us from this bigger disaster - The North American Union. Who gave bush the authority to give away our wealth and national sovereignty? This is treason of the worst kind and these clowns should be thrown out of office, and into jail, for what they're trying to do.

I'm with you. I beleive that the fence is just a mirage to appease those who are opposed to illegal immigration, and a distraction just as you mentioned.
Actually, I had never heard of the North American Union until I started posting on Gather and another poster brought it to my attention. I " Googled ' it and I was astounded at what I found on the internet. This subject was also on Lou Dobb's segment on CNN a couple of days ago.
The scary part of this is that we Americans are being kept out of the light on a lot of things, and the truth isn't being told. I think that if all of us knew what this administration was really up to, none of us would sleep very well at night .
Yeah, this was all pretty "hush, hush" until the kid visiting the Ali-Pac site cut loose...LOL.
I've told them and told them: You won't escape the capitalistic nature of this country - we are world leaders...not because we are the largest or fiercest battle nation in the world.
We are world leaders because of our freedom to succeed, create new ideas & technology...and surpass even our own preconceived notions of what human beings are capable of.
That said, we will find ourselves "one continent." It's inevitable. There will be a universal money, universal banking, universal everything....that's the way it is.

Anyway so. That's it in a nutshell. What aggravates me is the neglect of our politicians to come forward and say, "Look people of this nation: this is where we are headed. So let's stop wasting precious time on all this stupid shit and get down to business."

If we are " World Leaders " in the context that you use, that means that world domination by the U.S. is down the road. And any nation in history that has tried to dominate the world was eventually defeated by a group of nations banding together, such as in WW II . If you consider the sheer numbers of countries that hate the U.S. today, that may be where our country is heading.

I don't oppose the North American Union - but only because absolutely NO ONE has credibly proven that it is a mistake. I'm not into all the commentaries and hypotheses based on emotion. SHOW ME how this will cause the downfall of this nation.

This is where we are headed and the significant difference between your examples and the North American Union is that nations will come to us WILLINGLY. We don't need to CONQUER anything. They will be annexed - like Hawaii and Puerto Rico. OR they will be allowed their own governments and elections for presidencies in much the same way they do now.

Is it any wonder they see the similarities when the Bush family has such long-standing ties to that type of political ideology? Prescott Bush, father of George H.W. and grandfather to our current President, was a Nazi supporter who had 3 separate businesses confiscated from him in 1942-43 for violations of the 'Trading with the Enemy' act. Considering the lessons most probably taught to him while on granddad's knee, is it any wonder that he gets more Hitler-esque with each passing day?

Sigh.....it doesn't make sense to have the E.U. on the same financial system and not have pourous borders....what the hell does it matter now anyway? I mean they are like us - fighting over the most menial migrant jobs - the shoveling cow manure positions - for the most part. They don't have a tenth of our crime or illegal population - guess they're just more proactive?
At some point in time, you must get off of that fence that you are on.

Let me give you an example of how much incentive drives people. One of the few video games i play is World of Warcraftm It is an insanely popular online game. I use this as an example because I was simply stunned when i observed this.
In this game the developer creates dungeons for people to explore and then people can get items to build up their characters. Now one of the problems the developers ran into were people NOT experiencing a dungeon because the items they could obtain werent worth the effort. This is a game! People usually play games to just escape and have fun. But with this online game people were not playing the game for fun. but for the rewards they could gain.
If people refuse to play or experience part of a game because of reward regardless of content, I dont expect them to operate much differently in the real world.

Election day is almost here, and I know that a lot of people are extremely fed up and pi$$ed off at some of the people currently in office and are looking for change. However, be extremely careful when you vote, and be sure that you are not voting for a candidate that supports amnesty/citizenship for the millions of illegal invaders in our country.
If a candidate mentions comprehensive immigration reform and/or support for a guest worker program--it will mean amnesty/citizenship. Please investigate your candidates' opinions/goals on illegal immigration before you vote!! Don't vote strictly by party lines, vote on the candidate's plans/goals/opinions regarding illegal immigration.
If all of those illegal immigrants are given amnesty/citizenship--and they then are able to bring over immediate family members--the USA as we know and love it, will be changed forever. We will be turned into a third world country-- the economy and wages will be depressed forever, and our resources/social services/schools/healthcare systems will become over-extended failures. US citizens will face increased problems in trying to obtain decent jobs. In addition, your taxes will increase--as the illegals will be eligible for MORE social benefits (welfare, food stamps, WIC, low-income housing, etc.)--once they receive citizenship!!!

I think all of us hope to God that it is a conspiriacy theory, but we also realize we cant operate as if it is.
My senator that is not up for reelection that voted for amnesty and against the fence.. I sent him a nice little message that we now now where his loyalties lie and that he will not be relected to office. And a nice little comment that this country is run by the people and he no longer represents the people.

The NAU proposes to help secure the shorelines of both Canada and Mexico ? Ha Ha! The U.S. can't even secure it's own shorelines. Only 1% of shipping containers that arrive in U.S. ports are inspected, so only God knows who or what is coming into this country. Since neither Canada, Mexico or the U.S. can secure their shorelines, just how the heck is the NAU going to accomplish that? It's like putting together a team of losing basketball players and expecting to win the NBA title.
