I was up late one spring night way back in 2001, half awake and half asleep, when I stumbled on a show called "Austin City Limits". I was near passing out but awake enough to enjoy the few songs on the TV show. Before falling asleep I jotted down the name of the program and tried to remember the name of the artist.
A few days later I remembered that I like some songs from this TV show and hit the Google to find out what I could. I searched PBS then Austin City Limits and the date of the program. Eventually I tracked down a list of artists from that show.
One stood out and I found the artist who sang the songs I enjoy that evening. I hit the local Tower and picked up the CD "Sha Sha" by Ben Kweller. I was very happy. The songs I wanted were on this CD and I discovered many more.
I searched for more and visited Ben's website and signed up to the email list. A year or so another album came out and I quickly picked up the album "On My Way". There were a couple great songs on this CD. I was happy to have more.
Here we are today. For some reason I decided to check my long lost Yahoo email (This email had become a dumping ground for spam and I switched to Gmail) where after digging through thousands of trash email I found an update on Ben Kweller. There was a new CD out. Great!
You know the story… I hit the stores and picked up the new album. Ben Kweller has what I would call a rock/country flavor. Very much like the last two albums this one has a few great songs.
Ben's songs now play along side my other music by Bob Dylan, Muse, The Beatles, Jack Johnson and They Might Be Giants in iTunes.
A message to Ben… Keep the music coming!
