Last evening, I was at my daughter's house, as she and hubby had gone to a concert and they needed me to stay with my grandchildren. It was a hectic evening, as both Hannah and Andy made lots of demands on what they wanted to do, eat, watch on TV, etc. Finally, at 8:45 p.m., I tucked them into their beds.
The next morning, I awoke to the sound of my daughter's and my granddaughter's voices in the kitchen. When I opened my eyes, there right in front of me was a lady dressed in a long, frilly, white dress. She was smiling, looked to be in her '20s, had well kept hair and attractive features. As I haven't seen a spirit in a very long time, I shut my eyes again, hoping she would not still be there when I opened them again. Fortunately, she was gone.
My daughter told me about this lady shortly after they moved into their home two years ago. (Their house is about 100 years old). Eva was in the kitchen one night and she saw her outside as she walked along the deck past the windows in the back door. When I got up this morning, of course I described to her whom I'd seen and she knew right away that it was the same woman.
"I just wish she'd stop playing tricks on me when I'm in the basement," Eva said.
Apparently, this spirit likes to turn lights and appliances on and off. Then I remembered an incident which occurred a couple of weeks back. I was in the kitchen and all of a sudden, the radio came on. I just stood there staring at it and decided to just leave it on. Within a couple of minutes, it turned off!
I would love to know who this might be. I think I'll do a search on the title of this property and see what I come up with. If I learn anything significant, I'll let you know.

I do not think it is very important who she is; for sure she lived on that piece of land once.

I've seen spirits before on two occasions, and more than one at a time. They don't look anything like that though. However, if they were continually in the house turning things on and off, I don't know how I would handle it for sure. I think it would give me the creeps, even though it shouldn't I suppose.

I have had experiences with apparitions in my dreams. These dreams were not always calm nor did they make me laugh. I have had experience being in my parents home watching a movie with friends and family members when i noticed my bedroom door swinging slightly open, mind you it was partially open. All windows and doors to the outside were locked. I looked around to see if anyone else noticed what i saw just in case my eyes and mind were playing tricks on me. Thank God! one of our friends saw the same thing that i did in order to cooberate my sighting.
It was kind of scary because it was not something that i was prepared for. In my parents' home my mother is what you would call a seer. She dreams things which come true. She is very spiritual. Admittedly, there have been strange things in the past that has occurred.
I am a believer in psychic phenomenon, dreams the after life, and to some extent other things that we humans are unable to explain.
Martha, if you happen to encounter that particular spirit again, either write on paper a question to her, or ask her to respond to you with a yes or no answer by flicking the lights twice for no, and once for yes.
Perhaps the sprit is the guardian of the house and of your family.
As to the female spirit at my daughter's house, I haven't had a chance to be alone in the house since this happened. (or at least have the grandchildren to bed) However, I was planning on talking to her next time regardless if I actually see her or not. Thanks for the suggestions and you might be right.
