Effecting Political Change Through Being Involved in The Process

With the Fall Elections upon us, with accusations flying back and forth like manure in a Cow Chip Tossing contest, our nation again finds itself in for an exciting and greatly contested Election.  I'm one of those who has no toleration for the opinions of people that did not vote, feel their refusal to take the time to go into the ballot box and make a choice discounts everything they have to say.  Also feel, if you truly want a new direction in America, that you have to be plugged into the process, have to be out there beating the proverbial pavement for your candidate, your cause.  Saying that, I am wondering what some of you are doing this fall to be involved in the process. 

For myself, I am supporting a candidate in the local Congressonal Race here in New York.  This support includes what financial support I can bring to bear on the election, but I am manning phones, driving around putting signs out, standing outside of polling stations on election day, and anything else I can do to help out...have even offered up our house if need be for workers coming in from out of the area in the last few days of the election.
