CAN PEOPLE LEARN TO LIVE WITH DISASTERS?

The first thing that I would do is try to help the elderly in the neighborhood to get their yard and house back in order. We must learn to help each other out and not always focus on ourselves.

Sure im going to help them as much as i can, Hope no one is hurt, i hate to see someone hurt or dying..

I agree, we need to organize, and group together to help. In the end, we are all sisters and brothers.

Thanks for your comments. Lets continue with my story:
One of you decide to help the owner and goes over and picks up a limb and carries it to a place where it can be stacked up for disposal. The owner watches and asked what are you doing? "I am just trying to help you clean up the yard", you respond. He shakes his head, and joins in with you. Now two people are able to carry two limbs or one large one, so things start moving along. Another of you decide to join in and then some more until you all are busy cleaning up the man's yard. Your suffering is leaving and now you are laughing with your new friends as you work together helping. All two soon, the yard is cleaned up and you all are looking for more to do. You say, " Sure wish we had a chain saw so we could cut up the trees and take them to the stack. Others join in saying wouldn't it be nice if we had a crane, and someone that knew how to use it, then we could lift that tree off the house and try to cover up the hole. The owner says,"I sure wish that I had at least a tarp so I could keep the water from getting into my house through that hole in the roof. Everyone just stands and wonders?

What would you all do? Would you just go back to watching or find another think to do to help? What would it be? Give me some ideas and I will continue my story.

I would reach out to them to help them in anyway I can. I would also make an effort to explain to them why the hurricane happened. It is a result of the corruption of the fall which causes all of creation to groan and wait for the coming of Jesus to set all to right where there will be no pain, death, or suffering EVER AGAIN! Where the wolf will lay down the with the lamb.

This is the greatest thing I can offer to these people who have lost everything. Just giving them physical things alone or emotional support will leave them empty. Yes I agree these are needed, but without an eternal perspective they will be left without a Hope.

Please read the responses people have had to the book: DeadLine which have brought many to accepting Jesus, and they made me cry. These people found love that they thought didn't existed through reading this fictional book which is jammed full of truth.
