Many of you know I've been recuperating from knee surgery this week so I've been spending a lot of time watching TV....I've tried watching the stack of DVD's I have sitting beside my TV set but for some reason, probably the pain meds I've been taking, I just have a hard time concentrating on them, especially the foreign films I love so much, so I've been doing alot of channel surfing...
Two of my favorites are the Food Network and Travel Channel and lately I've noticed many travel oriented food shows...Eat your way thought this country or that seems to be the prevalent theme. yesterday I saw the best show,as one of the "chef-hostesses" took a tour of London and Paris...Well, I have to say the Paris segment really made me practically get up off my bed to buy an airline ticket...She and her hubby spent the entire portion going to the food markets we love to visit when we've been over there and even went into a kitchen supply store we been to...I have the cutest little duck creamer I bought there...But the piece de resistance was the Boulangeries/patisseries...Oh, those baked goods almost had me drooling...I wanted to reach right into the TV set and pull out one of those Fruit tarts or macaroons, I used to carry around with me in little bags though the streets of Paris..The final scene as she and her husband had dinner on the top of the Four Seasons hotel with the entire city in front of her and the Eiffel Tower the vocal point brought tears to my eyes...
Then this morning I saw a show that was a trip around Scotland, eating all those very strange concoctions they have over there..Yes, there is more than food on this very special channel....
