Dont Dig Digg I would Rather Gather

Using Digg can be an effective way to acquire more visibility for your work here on Gather. However, Digg is not really geared towards poems, or other creative works.

Del.icio.us is a service that allows you to share 'bookmarks' or 'favorites' with others, or with yourself across computers (work, home, etc.). Digg is a news-related service that identifies 'news-worthy' blog or news entries from across the web, which Digg users promote via a recommendation-type voting system (similar to what will hopefully replace the rating system here on Gather). The permalink copies the URL (web address) of the article, so that you may paste it into other applications, comments, articles, etc.

Hopefully Gather will soon explain to members how they can use these features to their advantage.... otherwise, I will need to write another article for them.

I found the link to Digg REALLY strange. Being a former web developer, (owning my own business), one of the first "no. no's'" I learned was a business does NOT direct clients AWAY from their own web site, unless of course they own the other site too? Hmmmmmmmmm.......

I'll check them out sometimes, maybe.
