Three writers that need more exposure

I am amazed at times that the cruddy little two sentence so called articles get rated and commented on more than articles that are informative with lots of effort put into them.

I want to highlight the three standouts I have perused and feel they are not getting the spotlight their groups and articles deserve.  More people need to read these, rate and comment on them.

These are in no particular order.

1.  Mary Hanna - http://mary4165.gather.com/

Mary writes on fitness, health and cooking. 

2.  Kathy Browning - http://earthmom.gather.com

her group is abundant living - http://abundantliving.gather.com

Kathy writes on health issues, feng shui and money issues to name a few.

3.  Connie C. -  http://villageanne.gather.com/

her group is be prepared - http://beprepared.gather.com/

Connie writes on homemade gifts, emergency predparedness and crafts among other interests. 

Take a moment to read the articles these talented ladies have posted and check out their groups.

so because these people wirte things that interest you they become some of the best writers on gather? if you stop and think about what is written in some of these long bone dry articles, not nessecarily by these writers, and compare some of the 2 sentence articles I have seen several that are more informative and less verbose. sometimes less really is more.

I listed their groups and their article topics so that would show what they write on for any one who is interested and curious to their writings as I am stating they could use more exposure.

Since anyone can write here I took the initiative to promote three writers. Instead of criticizing why not follow the same theory and post three of yours. These are my opinions, which may differ from others.

Amazing how one gets such negativity by promoting other people, but again the two sentence dribble gets a pat on the back.

OK challenge accepted: Bruce Henricksen, Aileen Fish., and me. (Some of our print world published works can be read at the Fifteen Minutes group on Gather, as well as the works of several other good writers. )

I love how connie had mad her list for her group that will help alot of unnoticed articles get read...I have missed alot of them..:)

It is an excellent gesture to promote others' work, Bonny. It would be a nice idea to start a group to highlight the contributions of outstanding but lesser known writers.

This is great, Bonnie. There's SO much going on at Gather that I find it very useful to get these "heads up" about perhaps-underappreciated writers. I'm free to ignore them if it doesn't appeal, but I have found more than a few "jewels" this way. And I like this method better than email.

It's great that you are trying to give a greater exposure to those you feel are publishing quality work here on Gather. I've noticed that those "two sentence" articles have a high readership and comment amount due to A) The author being popular and/or B) It's easier to read a two sentence article than one of a thousand plus words. There's a ficton group called fiftyworders that writes a story in fifty words. Usually an entry i put here gets more accolades and ratings and comments than something i write that is 10 times its length.

Great idea...I still think Gather is pretty hard to manouver and find your interests or more of your interests...actually finding stuff is not that bad, but the way you have to jump around and back and forth...I am checking tips and tricks but dont see what I am looking for, probably going to post some ideas/questions on improving gather....

The fact that I have (yes gulp) dial up (special accelerated version from my isp but dont think its doing much) may be part of it...but other is formatting of the site.

I dont know that I am interested in these 3 areas these ladies wrote on, but you made it quick and easy for those interested to find them!
