- Never be afraid to ask questions. Your fellow travelers will be happy to tell you that you are on the wrong train...or the right one, if you are lucky.
- If your fellow travelers are as groggy as you are, you can rely on your own resourcefulness. If you are heading to work in the morning and the sun is coming up on the left side of the train and you live south of Boston, you are probably on the wrong train.
- Don't plan on understanding the announcements made by the train conductor. I am certain they have hired Charlie Brown's teacher to announce the name of each stop, since all I've heard so far is, "Wah, wah-wah, wah." Keep one eye watching out the window for signs of your stop.
- Don't waste your money on a monthly pass. If you ride the train 5 days a week to get to and from work, the monthly pass gives you two free rides. You are likely to get even more free rides with the 12-ride pass. In just 3 rides, I've have my ticket taken twice. If this keeps up, I'll save a lot more with the 12-ride pass. I'm keeping tally marks on the back of my ticket of my free rides so I know how many I got. I'll make another post when I use up my pass to let you know how many rides I got.
- Plan on buying your 12-ride pass in Boston. They haven't arrived in the 21st century yet in Stoughton. They will only accept cash.
Now, I hear that if you find the right car, you may be able to get in on a game of cribbage on the ride home. I haven't found the car yet, but I'll keep looking and let you know when I find it!

I've heard that the train can be crowded. Have you had trouble with that? What times do you go? Any times to avoid, if possible? How's the parking?
Parking isn't a problem for me as I park in my driveway. I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance of the train.
I have gone on the 6:56 train and the 7:48 train. Since they start in Stoughton, there's no problem getting a seat. The way back home is a little more challenging. I'm watching for a pattern, but I'm thinking, so far, that getting on near the back or middle of the train there will be more seats. It bugs me that people purposefully sit in the middle of seats to let others know that they don't want anyone sitting with them. I'm going to start asking those people to move over. There's no reason for people to stand when there are seats available.
Anyway...that's my 2 cents. ;-)
