The rancid smell of money permeated the back seat of the limo.I cringed as the window rolled down. To be honest, I thought it might be fun to splurge but did it have to be so long and so white?
My gnome brother Sandy Andy peeked in the window and said,"remember to write. I hope it isn't another 100 years before I see you again." Ingemar smirked and waved goodbye.
I felt guilty refusing Sandy Andy's invitation to his place in the Redwood forest but I wanted sun and fun by the sea. By golly, I wanted a suntan!
The limo driver turned around and asked, "Where to Mr. Gnome?" His movie star smile stunned me for a moment. He had exactly want I wanted. Gorgeous blue eyes and a tan.
I stammered, "California."
His strong and deepsuperhero voice boomed, "where in California?San Francisco, San Diego, L.A.?" He raised an eyebrow and paused. "Or, maybe Hollywood?"
I nodded yes. He put the ocean liner on wheels into drive. "Hollywood it is then."
Miles of flat cactus studded desert passed by. It gave me a chance to think and more importantly, dream. Ever since I saw those Lord of the Rings films I wanted to become a star. If elves could do it why not gnomes?
