We all know that illegals have been using stolen and made up social security numbers and fake ID's to find work. The employers have not cared to really check these fake ID's too closely, have ignored the letters from the Social Security Agency that tell them there is a problem with one or some of their employees social security numbers. For years, if not decades, the IRS and Social Security Department have know what numbers were FAKE, but have refused to share their information with law enforcement. This loop hole largest enough to drive a semi through is looking like it is going to be closed.
DHS (Department of Homeland Security) is pushing to have new regulations imposed that would give them OVERSIGHT of Social Security's NO MATCH numbers. If Homeland Security is given control of this NO MATCH number program, employers would be given one month to provide corrected and accurate information on said employees, or be compelled to dismiss them.
The good news here, is that the Department of Homeland Security does not need legislative action to create and implement these regulations. It is estimated that up to three million illegal aliens could find their jobs at risk if these regulations are passed into being as Employers Opt to let them go, rather than face federal enforcement actions against them. Under these new proposed regulations, DHS could bring charges against employers for violating our nationl immigration laws.
AS THEY SAY, HELP MIGHT BE ON THE WAY...imagine over night three million illegals being given their PINK SLIPS.

Give it a rest, the topic may be Illegal Aliens, but your stand is like saying there should only be one article on Nascar, or one group for writers. Give it a rest, as I am surely going to be posting important news that those who support LAW AND ORDER are going to want to know about.
Companies and employers who hire an illegal alien, have been given very little attention...and they are as much if not more so a source of greed and illegal business practice...seems to me we could clean it up a lot faster if we start there than trying to run the illegal aliens around town...put the IRS on it...and where is any mention half the time of Mexico helping us with this situation...They should be helping their own....not leaving it up to us to do it...and to my knowledge we have gotten very little support from Mexico about this mess....they have been looking the other way for years...and why not...the money the illegal alliens are making here is being spent back there...Sad mess - truly sad...but the law is the law and it has not been enforced for years!!!
If these regulations get put into place, the companies hiring these illegals will no longer be able to ignore the No Match letters when they arrive....this in turn is expected to see literally millions of illegals put out of work.
Even if you tackle this somehow, you have, as someone said, the jobs that most of us don't do. These jobs needs massive manpower and most people here don't want to do then at the given pay. If you want to increase pay it will crumble the economy. Some people try to tell us it wouldn't, but look at Wall-Street, our import/export gap is growing large already. As rates increase, this gap may explode and may lead to an other depression. Even if you massively modernize/instrumentalize (make machines do the job) we don't have the technology ready to deploy yet and the damage will be done by the time. If you are ready to take the chances, we can not make a predictive time table as we cannot know when the discoveries will be done and new instruments work on an industrial scale successfully and then make all the farmers and industries adopt to the new technology, which will have an impacting effect on our economy.
I don't like rewarding the criminals, but it is better to be wise and make all the illegal immigrants legal by giving them a status (not green card, not citizenship), but legal status that let them work legally for now. This brings out the people from the dark and then we know who they are and what they are doing. We can make them pay all the debts they need pay in taxes and other debts to our society. Then we can gradually eliminate them, by sending them back gradually or by being kind (may not to all, but those we want to as we need – we control) by letting them stand at the end of the line, which ever we want. We control our nation. Also, we get to do all we want without loosing anything. We can make SSN regulations, harsh measures on illegal-hirers and modernizing our industries. Then what ever we do, everyone can actually participate in the process.
I don't see that sending all the illegal immigrants back at once or criminalizing them and our people will help any, without make any partitions with in us and let some of us fight with rest of us for some no face neighbor.
humanity is an essential component of our consitution, and our democracy. I don't see these thirty day deals to be very smart anyway....
did you say slips? more paperwork for the govt to sift through? how long would that take? meanwhile they can wait in the us, stuck someplace in the middle.
i think for every american company that hires illegals they hired them for life and made that mistake so now if they get caught must sponsor them and be financially responsible for them forever.
instead of having the convenience of casting them to the curb and sweeping it under the table.
deportation due to bad behavior is a great solution. i have seen so many judges say it out loud but have never seen it happen, at least not on a district level.
You site a lot of the arguments that the pro-illegal camp want us to swallow. Some facts for you.
First, the unemployment rates in America are much higher than the Bush administration would have you believe. His administration CHANGED the way these figures are kept, and once a worker has been unemployed for six months, they drop out of the statistics. Because of this, we could deport over half of the illegal aliens now and have bodies to plug into those jobs.
Next, it has been shown, that when a living wage is offered to American workers, there is no job they will not do. If a man is willing to go 1200 foot underground to mine coal for meager wages, we can find AMERICANS to pick our veggies.
It will raise havoc within the restaurant industry here in the LA area, which employs many thousands....as well as the garment industry and agriculture, although I understand that there are exceptions allowed in the latter....and the gardening business, etc., etc.......
Basically, it would make life uncomfortable and more expensive for white America and who wants to be blamed for doing that?
A wake up call....the tide is changing. In another article I posted here this evening, a very important case is being heard out in LA...if the citizen who filed it is successful, the says of Special Order 40 which makes LA a safe haven for illegals is HISTORY, the LAPD will have to begin enforcing immigration laws, and arresting illegals. OH MY GAWD, you might have to pay more for your DINNER OUT if restaurants have to actually hire a LEGAL CITIZEN, and pay them a FAIR WAGE.
I'm American, do not see myself as a part of WHITE AMERICA, see myself as American. I don't like illegals, regardless of the color of their skin. I hate the wealthy and elite of America that only care about themselves almost as much as I hate illegals. Most of the people I know cut their own lawns, do their own gardening.
If DHS is able to take over the mismatched Social Security letters, we will see serious and rapid crack downs....even the threat of it is seeing many companies deciding the risk of hiring illegals is not worth it. More and more of those day laborers are not being hired, some companies are letting employees go that have document problems. Let's hope this crackdown tide continues, lets hope that illegals find themselves no longer able to find work, lets hope that LA's restaurant industry does have issues until they employ a staff of LEGAL WORKERS.
How about DEPORTATION....that surely would work.
Let's see, you state that it's unfair to those in line, and those already here legally, but they should stay because they take jobs Americans do not want...here's a clue for you. Eight percent of these jobs Americans DO NOT WANT are STILL PERFORMED by Americans. Trust me, if you can get a coal miner to go 1200 foot underground to mine coal for peanuts, we can find Americans to pick our fruit....the Ag companies just don't want to pay anything to get their crops picked.
But since you made me think about it, I would have to say that I would be concerned for the children.
Curious...are you aware of the FACT, that because of illegals moving into job sectors traditionally reserved for our young workers (16-24), that jobs for our young adults here in America have dropped by over 30 percent in the last two years. Those jobs at McDonalds our kids took as their first jobs...they ARE NOT THERE in the numbers they used to be...that in turn means are children cannot start working on their own resumes.
BTW Progie if there were ever BILGE RAT THAT NEEDED TO BE THROWN INTO THE SOUP IT WAS YOU. Your talk is worse than any filth or scum that ever sailed the seven seas.
I think its coming from the right side of the room.....
How is the economy going to survive this? How many years is it going to take to get things going forward again? Is everyone sure that people here legally are going to do the jobs that so many illegals are doing for this country? That all farmers and company owners are going to be able to just give up their lively hood to go get this meager job because they cannot afford to pay more for the workers? I for one do not want prices to skyrocket due to this new illegals are bad thing.
Years and years people have come here illegally and worked their butts off for this country, all well knowing they could be jailed and sent back to their country at any time losing their savings and their families, but they still do it, helping us as well as themselves.
I do not see this issue as black and white as many people do i guess. These illegals are real people, whether we want to admit it or not, they are people! Not just machines that come here and work. Many many people who immigrated from other countries 50-100-200 years ago did not come here legally, yet it was all forgiven. I do not know why and I am not going to sit here and blame it on race and racists, because I am sure that people who are against illegals here are not all racist. I cannot believe that with our current defecit and our government sending billions of dollars to other countries that do not help us out other then standing behind us( way way behind us) when we need another country to say we are in the right. There are plenty of Americans that need help, and plenty of illegals here working making our country better that are shit on because of this status. I would rather have 12 million illegals here working trying to become legal citizens than sending billions of dollars to other countries that are not lifting a finger to help us, just turning around with our dollars in their hand and bad mouthing our country.
Did you know that the United States Department of Education has a carefully HIDDEN program called the Migrant Education Program that spends over $350 Million of our tax dollars yearly providing special treatment, including in some cases dental work to the children of illegal aliens?
There is a lot of money spent on these illegals and they are stealing our jobs. Yet! this money wouldn't pay all we are thinking. It may pay for now, but eventually as the economy decline we will be in truble. I am not speculating here. As companies can't stand global compition because of production costs, they crumble and so is our economy. I am not being selfish in my own terms ( I don't own any company), but what if we go into an other depression? Then we will starve our children anyway. There are Americans who take these low paying jobs, but there are not enough and even some who do those jobs don't like those jobs. Is that what you want our kids be doing? Working in restaurants, mines and fields, when they don't want it? I would be happy if my child like it, but I would like to see him/her in a job he/she likes.
I think we should start profiling at jobs. If you are not a citizen, you will be discriminated. No more equal opportunity unless you have a green card or citizenship. :-)
If you want to see at the criminal behaviour of the illegals, far worst crimes are being commited by citizens as well. The only crime ( it is not an excuse though) they have commited is stay and work in US withour proper paper work. Why? They are paying thousnad of dollars ($10,000 - $50,000) for those who help them cross the border. If they had a legal way to do that they would pay that to our government itself. Who want to risk their life? But who cares about them.
I am just selfish enough to see that I am safe and my kids wil have an opportunity. I just don't want us going into any depression and be unable to defend ourselves. I would rather deal with this in a timely manner by solving our weaknesses first and then kick a fist.
It's fine if you are proposing that we get serious, finally, abiut not letting them in, but it is unfair to the children in particular to punish those that are here because of our intentional policies that were implemented for our own benefit.
The problem is that the goat population has decreased since these " Chupacabras " have come here.
" El Chupacabras " translated to English means " Goat sucker "
Beware ! The next time that you have Hunan Beef at your local Chinese restaurant, you may actually be eating goat meat. Maybe they should call it " Hunan cabras "
This is not personal, but the same kind of negligent attitude lead us into the Middle-East conflict to where we are today. I am not saying we should help them, but just don't represent our arrogance, please!
I am a war monger, that doesn't mean I actively seek war, but if got an opportunity I will not hesitate. I like playing real-time strategy games on PC. I understand war dynamics and economy dynamics and how they work together.
I don't like illegal immigrants. I wish we can just pack them and through them in the sea, but it is not that simple. If you just want to watch your back and kick some butt, in this inter-dependent world, we will be left behind.
How dare they step on our sovereignty and demand equal rights? I wanted to see these rallying people shot right there in the streets leaving none, but how do we explain our selfishness and our mistakes. We let them in by having a blind eye when they are crossing and now since we don't like them we just kill them all? I hate the high morale ground we are in, since we are there, we don't want to loose it and the humanitarian tone in our Constitution.
Only if we are like the terrorists, we could have just been fine doing what we wanted to do. Now we have constrained ourselves in this rules of morality that we can not even say that this is our country you all leave. We have to talk about all these moral issues like the children suffered for parents mistakes, families divided if we send them back and all the garbage.
Anyhow, dealing with those already here is a individual case by case issue and the only way we can resolve is by knowing who they are what they are doing, but who cares. We don't care who hate us and who want to blow us up, we want to stand on one leg for what we want and empty our pockets by destroying the whole nation because they hate us.
I am not saying its our bad that they hate us, but when we can just avoid it by being a little smart, why not?
I did not prove Anil's point....fact, of the six million jobs created during the Bush administration, over 4 million have gone to illegal aliens, while Americans (legal) have a net job loss during his administration of 2.3 million. Most of those jobs are in sectors such as construction. As much as you want to ignore the reality, the cheaper wages that illegals work for, are seeing them stealing jobs, and I find those who say Americans should then learn to work for less money either incredibly stupid, or cruel.
What should happen to those American parts of these families....that is THEIR PROBLEM. Not being flippant here, stating a fact. If the head of an American household gets arrested and sent to jail, for any kind of crime (DUI, embezzlement, assault) those families have to learn to adapt and do the best they can. It's called LIFE.
ON children....I would tend to agree with you, except for one small detail. In my first marriage, I was married to a woman that had three kids. Two of them lived with us, I raised those kids as my own, drove them to dance and hockey lessons, rushed my (step)son to the hospital when he had a horrible bike accident so that he could be in surgery almost six hours having his face sew back on.
I am not without compassion here....but, I come from a family where my Mother was a para-legal Secretary, and one of my uncles was a judge. All three of the boys, myself and my two brothers served in the Armed Forces, and numerous extended family members also served, and were in law enforcement. I even had an Aunt that was the mayor of the small town we lived in.....laws are laws.
Selling Illegal drugs is Illegal !
Murder is ILLEGAL !
A lot of things are Illegal !
Anyone who is here Illlegaly is here" Illegaly " , plain and simple.
Our country can't solve China's problems, our counrty can't solve India's problems, and our country can't solve Mexico's problems.
These countries need to solve their own problems instead of sending their refugees here.
Hell, we couldn't even handle our own during Hurricane Katrina !
A fiend of mine from Puerto Rico ( legal ) told me that a friend of his from Puerto Rico ( also legal ) was assisting in New Orleans, and his report was that a lot of illegals were hired to clean up the mess, while most of the New Orleans residents were displaced.
So why didn't the New Orleans residents get the first chance at those jobs ?
I am really happy about the way things are turning up. Yet, we are still neglecting some things. I see a lot of enforcement only bills, we need to keep an eye on the twelve million already here and our economy. No one want to address the import/export gap and fluctuating economy. We are fighting hard against fluctuation and I hope we keep up.
We need to decide as soon as possible what we want to do about these 12 million. As they lose jobs because of enforcement, most of them have credit cards, Bank acounts that will give certain credit, and they will use it as much as they can. This just one of the examples how they can steal just before they leave. Once thety use up all their savings and credit line, we have to send them back with our own money.
If anyone who read this has an infulence on the Hill, use it wisely. Even some humanitarian organizations will help them with basic things since they can show some kind of false/fake identification. That money comes out of our pockets too. We are not sweeping the nation by these enforcement only bills we are passing. We are only depleating the work opportunities.
Soon we will be feeding 12 million on our pockets while they just sit and eat.
