Being a good listener is sometimes pain in the EAR and MIND!

Today I had the misfortune of listening to a pessimist who thinks the world is out to get him, for no apparent reason. He has not one single good word to say for any one else other than himself. When I tried to reason with him, he accused me of being on the other side.

Now do I have to takes sides? Trying to be balanced with him took a toll on me. I was so stressed out by the end of it so much so  that I promised myself, I will no longer try to get in touch with him.

If he's a really good friend maybe you could work it out. If he's not don't bother with him anymore. Life is to short.

If you are everyone's friend, you are no ones friend. Naturally, there are going to be some people out there that you just cannot comprehend, nor do I think you should care to. Why waste your energy and time? Fly free, and accept that you CAN be selective. Just keep leading by example!

You don't have to take sides. If he can't accept that, then maybe this friendship needs a break or an ending. I've had a friend like this, now we talk maybe every 4 months and that works.

Maybe he will go away from the conversation and think about how balanced you were, and learn something from that. Maybe he just likes to be confrontational. Maybe it is healthier for you to not engage with type of person.

The conversation was kind of getting unhealthy for my well being of mind. I am better off without the likes of him.

And even as you allow this person's words to roll off of you without touching you within, like shedding dirty water from an umbrella, then in your spare time perhaps a prayer for them - imagine the kind of Hell that such a person must live in! Even if it is a Hell of their own creation.... may they be someday liberated.

...some people are so full of hatred and negativity that they poison themselves and those around them with their attitudes...it's sad too, oftentimes these people have no idea what so ever that they are doing this...so the cycle goes on and on and on with them complaining and driving people further and further away....

If he doesn't have a good thing to say about anyone then he doesn't have a good thing to say about you and if that is the case why are you even bothering.

You don't have to prove to him that you are a good person,

think about it if he doesn't know by now he never will.

Whatever his issues are you don't have to take them on,

you can only help people who want help.

Time to move on and leave him to his own devices.
