My boyfriend and I would like to go backpacking or camping with friends in early October, possibly over Columbus Day weekend, with some friends. We're looking into places within driving distance of Chicago--Illinois, Indiana or Wisconsin are the most likely candidates. We've been to Kettle Moraine before as well as Devil's Lake and Mirror Lake but would be open to trying something new. Has anyone been to Wyalusing State Park? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also, are there any websites we should look into? The state DNR websites have lists of campgrounds but not very many pictures, etc. Thanks!

Have fun wherever you go
We've also had White Pines recommended to us in North/West IL, which might be good. Otherwise, I think its up to Mirror Lake Campgrounds in Wisconsin (near Baraboo and hiking in Devil's Lake).
