For a relaxing eye pillow, flax seed is just wonderful. Flax Seed is an herbal flower seed, so it has no odor, as a food product would. It contains between 30 - 40% oil and makes a wonderful ingredient for filling eye pillows that can easily be made, neck/shoulder or body warmers, though the best, to me is the eye pillow and also this would go great in a gift basket.
If you make a pillow yourself, it's very easy and several can be made in one sitting. Take a nice soft material, I've used raw silk or a very soft cotton, and cut a piece of material that is about 7 inches wide and long enough to cover both your eyes, with also enough to overlap. Cut several and sew (inside out), all but one corner, the flax seed will easily go in there. Turn the material and fill not too full, just enough so that the pillow is very movable and can be easily bent. Sew the corner shut.
Since the flax has moisturizing oils in it, it can be heated if you choose, but I use it when my eyes are sore, and put it in the fridge for a bit - then lie down (take it to bed if you'd like!), and place it over your closed eyes. It should drape over the sides as well, for maximum cooling benefit. Feels great, inexpensive and easy to make - and you'll use them and also goes great with a little instruction tag tied to it, in a gift basket or as a gift all by itself.
If you wish to make them for heating purposes, use soft cotton, and cut larger parts of material for an arm, shoulder or whatever you have in mind. Otherwise, everything is the same. Fill and sew shut. To heat, I place it in a warm oven for several moments or you can also use your microwave. Put on to ease soreness as this too, due to the oils, will be moist heat.

You can find it in any herbal store. They always keep a good supply on-hand. You can also order it from the 'net, there are a lot of good places to get it from - one of those, is my wholesaler who has it by the lb. and in the 25lb size, which is frontier co-op. I don't know if anyone can get into the wholesale site, but the retail site isn't a problem and you can trust all of their herbs, as they test for impuritys and such.
Flax seed pillows are great --- though my husband won't part with his Lavender buds pillow and now wants another one ;)
