I'm getting married. It only took me eight years in my relationship to get to this point. I've been dating Bill for eight years, three of which we've been engaged. I just wasn't ready. I was quite happily living my committed relationship life, explaining to people just why we weren't married yet, "He took five years to propose, I get five years to decide when I want to get married." (Okay, so I'm a little free-spirited, combined with part chicken and procrastinator).
So in reality, I've known that I am getting married for three years, I just haven't officially committed to the actual event until now.
I haven't told Billy that I've decided on a date. I've actually picked two dates, one for next year and one for 2008. I'm planning to 'propose' those to him on our anniversary later this month, along with some other details I've been working on for the wedding.
I've got a lot of work ahead of me, that I know for sure. The biggest problem I see is the invitations...this could get big really fast. Which is why I decided to have it here in Florida instead of up north where a lot of the family is. If they're looking for a free party, they won't come this far. The people that matter most will come.
Other than that news, our addition on the house is nearly complete. (Mandi G., I always think of you as we're working on the house here...I've got to get my remodel stories and pics up to your group!) Interior and exterior are both painted, interior doors installed, we have our light fixtures and ceiling fans. I've picked out the carpet for the bedroom. We're also working on refinancing the house. All this in addition to everyday, normal living. Life has been hectic here, but oh-so-enjoyable.
And that, my friends, is why I've been offline for a while!
