A salt scrub that we'd pay so much money for as part of a spa treatment is very easy to make right at home, for ourselves.
*Note, if making for a gift, leave the oil out, not the fragrance or essential, but the carrier or in this recipe, I'll use Sweet Almond Oil. Put into a separate little bottle and tie it to the side, with a ribbon around it, attaching it to the scrub for the person to add it right before using. That way, they'll start out with a nice, new scrub.
Salt scrubs are wonderful in the winter when our skin needs that extra-exfoliation along with a good moisteriser. Salt scrubs do both at once, while also feeling great - but they can be used year round, to keep your skin the way it should be, and as a treat for you....
Here's a basic recipe:
1 part epsom salt
1 part Sea Salt (fine ground)
2 parts Sweet Almond Oil
Fragrance if desired, a blend you'd like, or just one. * A few drops goes a long way *
Combine the two kinds of salts together, mix ahead if you like and make a double or triple batch up of the salts - then take the amount you'll need for your bath, and add to it the sweet almond oil. Add fragrance or essential oils, only a few drops as more is not needed. You may also add local honey, as this is a great addition too.
Run your bath, hop in and rub/scrub all over with this mixture. It will make you and your skin feel great, almost like a wake-up massage, as your skin gets exfoliated and will feel like it glows. Meanwhile, with the addition of the oil, (other oils may be used, this is one example), you'll also be getting the moiserizing effect as well. This is great for your skin and you're worth it!
As a gift, I like to pack the mixed, blended with essential oil blend into the four ounce small jelly jars, with the ribbon-tied oil bottle tied around the top of it. Of course, that would mean 4 ounces of oil as well, so it can be made in a smaller batch, perhaps in a 1 or 2 ounce jar, with the bottle then being smaller and still tied. I use these in my gift or Sunshine baskets along with soap that matches, and maybe a sugar scrub too?
Other oils that can be used and are wonderful for your skin are Jojoba oil - Golden, Safflower oil, Sunflower Oil, Shea Oil and many others. Any questions, feel free to ask :)

And you'll pick your own scents if you make your own, and probably be happier with "your own" product!
Next, will probably be sugar scrubs - don't buy any, Mandi! :)
angelus - it's for guys too! :)
Edward - it is relaxing and no, lol, don't eat it!
