She rules, and my bed is one of her thrones. If I leave her home when I go away , I get separation anxiety. You have guessed it I am talking about my dog Misty. Some words that I would use to describe her are loyal, playful, smart , cute ,my best friend ( shhh, don't tell my husband ) Actually he loves that I get so much pleasure from owning this dog . He bought me this little sign not long after we got her. It said "Lost husband and dog. Reward for the dog. "When she is in the house she spends most of her time in the corner near my desk, when she wants to go bed, she ups and hops up on my bed. When I get in bed, she shimmies up beside me and waits to be scratched, especially on her tummy. She is my alarm clock, but doesn't always go off when I want her to. Sometimes she is pushing her nose at me at 4:30 or 5:00 in the morning.
Misty loves to go for a walk, and has learned that my husband Ron is the best person for that .She is just too strong for me. As soon as she sees Ron put his shoes on, she wags her tail and her eyes light up. When he takes her to her pen in the morning she jump and down like mad. Doesn't even want to stand still long to get her leash on. She loves to play with her ball. Actually is a big plastic buoy and she chases it all over her pen. Her pen is about 30X40 in size. She barks at it, and rolls it with her nose and rolls it off her back, looks just like a seal. She loves it when we play with her and if we don't throw the ball back to her fast enough she barks at us.
I haven't taught her too many tricks, but for treats, she knows to give me her paw, and she will also roll over. One thing about her that I found unique was that she loved to chew on ice cubes when she was teething. She also cut her teeth on plastic margarine containers as well.
Misty has the softest fur. I just love to rub my face in her coat. She sure sheds a lot though, good thing we have a good vacuum cleaner. I call Misty my brown eyed-girl, those eyes can convince you to do just about anything for her. She is most generous with her kisses and is always glad to see me.
I have osteoarthritis and so I am not that active, Misty is my faithful companion. I can talk to her and she never sasses me back or disagrees with me. Owning Misty is very good therapy, I read once that a lick from a puppy is better than a psychiatrist, and I agree. Sure is a heck of a lot cheaper too.
