He knew that it would take a huge sacrifice to get his family back. He could only hope for a divine intervention.
He sat down by the computer. He was thrilled that he had transferred all those files to his secret little hiding place. He was able to access the company database from there as well. He scrolled through the case files, skimming them rapidly, trying to pinpoint suspects.
He wondered who to trust, and realized that he could trust only one person, but she was a civilian. Could he risk getting her involved, and would she want to help?? He felt his strength freeze up again, no there were no time for that now, he had decisions to make.
He found the disposable cell phone, and opened the wrapping, placed the SIM card in the slot and punched in the code. Searching for signal... oh, no.. Could it be that he was out of luck so soon? Beep, beep, beeeep, signal cleared, he was online. He dialled the number, held he breath, how was he going to give her the news? He decided that he'd better make her meet him, just in case they were keeping an eye on her.
"Hello", she said. "Can you meet me?, I need your help", he said. "How about the gas station just off the freeway in two hours?" She agreed.
He was thinking more clearly now, but realized that he could be forced to give the ultimate and divine sacrifice in order so save his family. He couldn't allow himself any self-pity now, act and react was the only way now!
