Working Solutions...Solving the Illegal Problem

September 11, 2006 04:23 PM EDT
views: 138 | rating: 7.3/10 (9 votes) | comments: 137

Are you tired of having the Mexican flag waved in your face as ILLEGAL ALIENS (criminals) march through the streets demanding AMNESTY.  Do you think the Senate has it all wrong, and the House of Representives is on the right track with secured borders, strong work place enforcement actions, and NO AMNESTY for criminals?

Do you think it is time to put and end to Safe Haven communittees where illegals are allowed to run rampant over the local populations, while stealing our jobs, and lowering quality of life in our neighborhoods?

Then get involved, TAKE A STAND by plugging in and working towards finding solutions to this serious NATIONAL CRISIS by joining illegalsolutions here on Gather.

YOUR IDEAL....LOL...that's rich.

Any other ideas you want to claim as yours....this is as funny as Al Gore claiming credit for inventing the internet?

You and JAckie deserve each other.

Debbie...first, HOW WOULD I even know about your group? I am not a member of it, and you JUST FORMED, as your own words state.

Secondly, the name of my group is NOT Working Solutions, the title of this thread is WORKING SOLUTIONS...solving the illegal problem. Tell me, are you ALWAYS this paranoic of others? Is your group even PUBLIC, as in open to all the members here, or some private by INVITE only ILLEGAL ALIEN LOVE FEST?

Ranting....give me a break....

You people want to negotiate as if you are in the Cat Bird seat....IE, Jackie as a perfect example. It actually looked for a moment as if she would put a serious marker on the table...instead, the second she thought she could make a BENEFITS GRAB, she went for it, and I wasn't buying. You are obviously cut from the same cloth....someone from MY SIDE offers to consider the possiblity of some kind of partial Amnesty, and you both walked away....shrug.....par for the course from your side. If you cannot have it all, you hold your breath till your ass turns blue.

Yeah, Porkie. Why aren't you out busting your butt somewhere relieving some of the reliance on illegal immigrants by doing a honest day's work in a field somewhere?

Oh, that's right! You can't! Because that way, you couldn't hang on your porch dressed in your GI Joe duds shouting INCOMING!!! every time you see somebody with a little bit more melanin than you've got.

Debbie....that's the advantage of working for myself...I am my own boss, do what I want, when I want to....including staying up on this board...in fact, this time of the year, I'm in my office, which is in my home shuffling papers, and booking work for next spring...in short, it's easy for me to stay up on this board, and do my work at the same time.

Not major installation work....this time of the year it's maintenance, and closing up things for the winter to come, and I do not do that type of work...I spend from now to spring lining up new work, and doing design work for projects on board for next year...raking leaves is not my cup of tea.

this is for anyone that thinks illegals dont hender the quality and economy among many other things in OUR country. I have felt this first hand. Let me tell you how. Im sorry but I was not one of you spoiled rottin brats that had everything handed to me. I was brought up in a somewhat poor family and had no chance to go to collage. I had to go out and work hard for a living. I didnt have many options so I fell into doing drywall for a living. I started out fast and got good at what I was doing and started getting more money for what I was doing, just to let you know I was finnishing drywall. Anyway I had worked my way up to WOW a big 6 dollars a board. At that point in my life of drywall i was just starting to be able to take care of my family on my own. WELL now comes the twist, at that point I was told that I had to take a cut and they could only pay me 4 dollars a board because they could get some mexicans to come in and do it for that. you know, there was no way that I could make it on that, I was already struggling on 6 dollars a board.do you think that is fair????you know why the mexicans can do it for that price??? Ill tell you why, they have a lower standerd of living, they can live 15 or 20 of them to one home. Me being the race that i am would not be alowed to live like that for another thing I wouldnt live like that, I have higher standards than that and Im sure you do too, so there for thay have lowerd the standard of life, Then you wanna say that they take the jobs that americans wont do huh!!! Well why do you think I didnt want to do drywall anymore??? DUH!! it wasnt that I didnt want to do it I was because it was taken from me. Thank you supporters of illegals! What part of that dont you understand??? now we have 12 million of them here sucking off of you and me and dont say they dont. Ill tell you how. Who do you thank pays for there education??? it isnt them , they work under the table. You know I could go on and on but if you cant see it for your self than obviously you dont get it and you probly never will so thank you for helping them bring down the standards of life here. thats all I have to say.

George...a PERFECT EXAMPLE....within the drywall area of those in the construction trade, illegals have taken over 30 percent of the job base, and lower the prevailing wages...it's as I have been saying here....Illegal Aliens no longer stay in the ag jobs...they have branched out, and the problem is, they THINK NOTHING of undercutting the wage base just to get the job, because to them it's all about their QUALITY OF LIFE, and screw every one else, to hell with those they displace.

George and Porgie, want to tell us how many illegals you know? Or do you look at anyone who seems a little different and assume those people are illegal? And George, are you sure the reason for your cut in pay was that others would do it for less, or might it have been because others were more dedicated to doing the job well? I ask, because a good friend of mine owns a business that uses drywallers and he has mentioned many times the difference in the work ethics of the Mexican workers who generally work faster and do a better job. Could be your experience is not at all the same, but I thought I would mention that working for less money isn't always the reason people prefer different workers. Also, I know quite a few Americans who work under the table, especially in construction. Do you resent the way they bring down the standards of life in YOUR country the same?

I keep seeing Porgie's and George's irrational comments pass by on the comment page and have to come here to see if I misunderstood. I agree, they exhibit no logic or rationale, only misguided, obvious bigotry. If you guys want to make a difference, I suggest you get some real facts and change your tone, otherwise you won't be taken seriously.

Sandy, can't go with you on that one. We explain Wal-Mart locking illegal aliens in the back of their stores so they don't get caught as they felt that the aliens worked better? This is not an issue of whether the Mexicans work or don't work better -- this is a matter of protecting our job base for actual Americans. We have exported a huge percentage of our blue collar jobs overseas -- and we are still importing illegal aliens who are decreasing the wages of the remaining jobs. I think it is reasonable for people to resent that and it is hard to drum up much sympathy for industrial size orchards and food processors like Tyson.

George, do you think the only employees malwart locks in at night are illegal aliens? And until George and Porgie explain how they know people are illegal, I am going to believe they don't. Everything they have said leads me to believe they assume anyone who speaks Spanish or looks different is Mexican and illegal.

Sandy:

Define KNOW...I live in a middle class community about one hour outside of New York city. Two houses on our block went up for sale a few years back, and were purchased by an absentee landlord...prior to that, these houses were FAMILY homes.

Both houses were immediately FILLED to the brim with illegals...when I say to the brim, I am talking 30-40 people, mattresses piled all over the floors. In the one home that has now been chopped up into three tiny apartments you can watch ten men come out each morning when a van pulls up to haul them off to work.

We never had a parking problem is our neighborhood, most houses had two cars associated with them, though some ONLY ONE. These two houses have more cars associate with them that the entire rest of the block...now, if you can get a parking place, you consider yourself fortunate, as the illegals have taken far more than their share of the street side parking.

One of these houses filled to the brim with illegals is beside me, the other across the street from me. I've caught them in my swimming pool, caught them stealing flowers from my garden, caught them stealing water by hooking a hose up to my water line to wash their cars when they thought I was away, have even caught them in the middle of the night sitting in my lawn chairs out in our back yard. Last Christmas Eve they had a Christmas party, the cops had to show up four times, and then at 4:30 in the AM, three of them who had gotten drunk went out for cigarettes, and upon returning though our house was theirs.

Do I know these people well enough to call them by name...only the two I managed to get arrested so far, but I know them. I've seen them out in the front yard urinating behind the tree because the bathroom inside is in use....that might be fine if one lives out in the country with no one around, butr you do not urinate in public living in the middle of town. When I was out of town my wife caught two of the men leering at her through our side window, care to tell me why they were on OUR SIDEWALK that leads to our back yard peering into OUR WINDOW? I went to go out one night to the corner store down around the corner from our house....I could not get down my steps as these illegals thought my steps made a good workbench for their tools while they used my security lights to work on their car. My house is not the local Jiffy Lube! The noise from these two houses is so bad on Friday and Saturday nights, and most Holidays, that we all take turns calling in noise complaints to the local police. I know them, I don't LIKE THEM, I have just cause not to like them.

We tried to move out...it's basically TOO LATE, the value of our home has dropped $50,000 and no one wants to buy it and live next door and across the street from this kind of trouble. So, how many illegals do I know...60 within stones throw of my house, and I would not give you a plug nickle for any of them. I have beautiful flowers and landscaping in my yard, one of the beds runs along side of their driveway, and elevated bed of about 50 foot in length....where do they get off thinking they can STEAL MY FLOWERS? I left a brand new weed eater on my front porch while I went in for a glass of tea, and when I came out less than five minutes later they had stolen it, the two men that had been sitting on the front porch of the house next door suddenly gone and out of site....HOW CONVENIENT.

Okay,

do you know because you are psychic?

do you know because these people have admitted to you they are illegal?

do you know the people who filled those houses were illegal because the neighbors told you that, or because every time you went to visit, each person in the house confessed to you?

do you know any good-ole white boys who drink a lot of Millers and pee outside?

do you know because you think all people who speak Spanish and look different are from Mexico and here illegally?

Sandy...how do I know they are illegal? The police have told me so...we live in a Safe Haven community...thanks to Mayor Bloomberg of New York who sets the tone for the rest of the burbs around the city. We have had the police attend citizen meetings, we have what they call a neighborhood community relations officer who tries to diffuse potentially explosive situations in the neighborhood. We have been told that they CANNOT arrest ANYONE for being here illegally...we know. When three of them were on my porch Christmas Morning beating on the door to get back into the party (they had the wrong house) I called the police before answering the door....I stood out on my porch in my robe while the police questioned them, I heard them ADMIT they were illegals.

As to hating any one that does not look like me....hardly. I have friends of every color and race you could think of, have traveled to Japan, have a basic grasp of the language, my niece's husband is Puerto Rican, our grand neices half, and I am pleased they are learning Spanish, as it is a part of their heritage, though NOT MINE. What amazes me, is that you seem to miss the difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration.

You don't "know" anything. You don't KNOW their status just by looking out your window. These guys could just LIKE living in groups. My God, they might be part of some far out homosexual orgy. WHO CARES? And what's it to you? Unless you're miffed that you weren't invited.

Drywall Guy - you need to stop and consider this. If the American contractors were fair and charged people a decent price instead of jacking up the cost 5 and 6 times, maybe they would have more business coming their way.

If I can get the same job done on my house by somebody (illegal or otherwise) charging me a fair rate rather than jacking it up 5 or 6 times the cost, damned skippy I'm going with the better deal.

It all comes back to if the Americans weren't so damned greedy, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Let's see...Amazing you cannot find anything on Walmart hiring illegals...since your brains must be addled, I did the search for you....want to claim that CBS News and the Washington Post are RAG SHEETS?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/11/10/national/main582665.shtml
(CBS/AP) Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Tuesday that it has received a "target letter" from the U.S. Attorney's Office alleging the world's largest retailer violated federal immigration laws.

"The company is the target" of the investigation, Wal-Mart spokeswoman Mona Williams said.

On Oct. 23, federal agents arrested about 250 alleged illegal workers in a 21-state sweep of Wal-Mart stores.

Wal-Mart to Pay $11 Million

Chain Settles Illegal-Worker Investigation

By Michael Barbaro
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, March 19, 2005; Page E01

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the nation's largest retailer, agreed to pay $11 million to settle a federal investigation that found hundreds of illegal immigrants were hired to clean its stores, government and company officials said yesterday.

U.S. officials described the settlement's dollar figure as the largest of its kind. But Wal-Mart admitted no wrongdoing in the case, saying it was unaware contractors were employing illegal immigrants.

I do want the illegal invasion stopped. From what I understand it is Kennedy and company in the senate stalling the bill. I do have to say that I have not seen a Mexican yet that does not work hard. So lets be fair and truthful. If you are going to call them all criminals, take a good look in the mirror. There is hardly a person out there that does not stretch the truth come tax season. Technically, your a criminal. As far as stealing jobs from Americans, thats bull and we all know that. Any of you working as a landscaper or a bus boy in a restaurant? I don't think so. Lets get serious and get a bill passed that keeps terrorists from coming into the country that we love. That means sealing the Canadian and Mexican borders. After all, is it not the terrorists we fear more then the illegals hoping to find a better life?

Porkie, the police cannot inforce immigration laws and it's none of their business whether or not a person is here illegally. I highly doubt they "told you that" these people were illegal and if they did, I want the SOBs' badge numbers.

Though the one thing I've found to be pretty true is about half of them do speak better than they let on and they understand a whole lot better than that. They just hide that from the people who don't like them.

Have you noticed how often the Americans who speak/write the poorest English are the same ones who complain about others not speaking English?

Oh, for the love of God.

Let's all lash out at WalMart for hiring some illegal immigrants to sweep up our messes while we cover our asses with drawers sewn in sweatshops in third world countries and think not a thing of it. Most of which were probably bought at WalMart in the first place.

OH MY GOD...what kind of a spoiled rotten little ingrate calls Americans working for barely minimum wage GREEDY AMERICANS?

In another post SNOBIA I posted a remark from a paper where a fruit farmer was upset that he could not find enough workers to pick his apples at seven dollars and hour....do the math....that's $14,400 dollars a year BEFORE TAXES....MY GAWD....those GREEDY WORKERS!

After Uncle Same takes his share, that worker barely has $1,000 a month to live on, and support a family! Even if his wife is working full time as well, they are going to find themselves barely above the poverty line. Maybe you embrace Bush's plan to eliminate the middle class and turn America into a two tiered society, I don't.

As to your false allegations of how I treated them...get a clue. It's NOT JUST ME that wants them gone.

Ron...I am a licensed landscaper, fully insured here in New York....maybe you do not want to see it, but the illegals are infesting this industry.

Debbie...you are showing your ignorance...most nursuries here in New York are closing down for the year, the only work left to do if one wants it is raking leaves, giving lawns a last mowing...I don't do service work, I do installations....learn the difference.

For one thing sandy I try to keep away from criminals so no I dont know any persenaly. For another thing when you have 12 million illegals it cosnt tak a rocket scientist to figure out at least half of the mexicans you see have to be illegal. for another thing sandy I am a very dedicted person, I have pulled through some very tough times that those people have brought to me by continuiosly under cutting me in every trade I went into. I own a home that is worth about 280,000.00 and i now only owe 80,000.00 that says alot about me. in the mean time though with tring to keep head above water I lost my family do to finatual stress and now i only see my son every other weekend, you try that. As for your freind in dry wall he should be ashamed of him self for being so greedy and putting fellow americans out of work. I guess they can do it faster than me when they get 20 of them in one house and I am by my self.as for them doing a better job, I think you need to do some studying, ever herd the saying that they dont build things the way thy use too. well there you go there is your quality! dont tell me you dont know anyone that has bought a new house and it wasnt a nightmare that the house was very poorly built. If the americans you know that are working under the table now maybe thats because the standard of living was brought down so far that they have been put in situations that they have to work under the table. ever think of that???ever heard of get the ball rolling?? well that also can roll in negative ways as well. the only thing that kept me rolling is my son and if I didnt have them i would probly have givin up the war as well.

Let me point out the obvious to you here, Porkie.

1. You're American, free to work legally wherever you choose.
2. You're an adult.
3. You have choices.
4. Landscaping is not the only industry in the market.

If it doesn't pay enough, do something else. Is it that hard to understand?

Have mercy!

SNOBIE.....a wake up moment for you!

I DO NOT HIRE ILLEGALS...this means that my bids on many jobs are higher than companies that DO HIRE illegals. This means I do not get a LOT OF THOSE JOBS. This reality does not affect me personally, but it does affect those that USED TO WORK WITH ME....if there is not enough work for them, you have no choice but to lay them off.

I am fifty, nearing retirement, have worked for myself almost my entire life. If you've ever seen Country Living magazine, you have seen my pottery, sold that company back in 1997. I might have to skip the pleasure of going out and purchasing a new car this year, I'll manage...but what about those that used to work for me, who USED TO HAVE A JOB? They don't have those jobs because they were NOT GOOD WORKERS, they do not have those jobs because they could not afford to work for peanuts.

If and illegal is working as a day laborer for a landscaping company around here, the pay is $100 a day for a ten-12 hour day. They do not pay taxes on that money, it is unrecorded INCOME. They have no health insurance, choosing instead to go to the emergency room when they have medical issues, and then don't pay their bills, leaving them for the tax payers to absorb. I paid my workers $15.00 and hour, plus benefits...not as many as I would like to have provided, but what I could afford. For them to clear that same $100 a day AFTER TAXES, they had to earn $150.00, and actually with a ten hour day, they grossed $165.00 If I put a three man crew on a job for a week, at the end of the week I am staring at $585 dollars in additional labor costs, and that is before factoring in my other costs of ABOVE BOARD employees, such as Social Security taxes.

Have mercy....how about trying to have a brain little girl, how about showing some compassion FOR AMERICANS.

A brat, I am. Spoiled, I'll give you that, too. But not in the context in which you meant it.

I'll tell you who and what I am. I am the wife of one of these people you're talking about. I've watched my husband, over the course of 10 years, bust his ass from daylight to dark to provide for his family. We have never - do you hear me, not once - gone without anything.

Over the course of that ten years, I have watched the white guys that his boss has employed steal the guy blind and cheat him out of thousands of dollars. Do you know who was left at the end?

The dirty, filthy, no good criminal illegal that you didn't want here.

Do you know who the foreman is now?

See above.

Do you know who the white thieves have to answer to?

See also above.

Do you know what the future of your country is?

The American born children of those dirty, no good, criminal illegals - who are going to be able to voice their disdain for how their parents were received in this country right where it will have the most impact - the voting booths.

SNOBIE...I was actually thinking of the C word, but whatever....as you admit, you're spoiled, and now you admit to being married to and illegal...explains a lot.

Your dear husband...would never get his foot into the door of my business...I do not hire CRIMINALS, no matter how much they claim they know, or how hard they claim to work. Like it or not, they are SCUM...if you cannot follow our laws, you DO NOT BELONG HERE, and it is really that simple.

As for the rest...don't COUNT on it. The illegal alien movement LOST THEIR CHANCE TO FOOL US AGAIN, the Senate bill IS DEAD...you can bank on it. As for children...I read the reports...the drop out rate for Latino's is staggering, and goes a long way to explaining why it is that Mexico and other Latin countries are still so backward and third world.

Further, go read up on the 14th Amendment....you'll find there is GREAT DEBATE going on as relates to Anchor Babies, and though out of kindness those here already might be grandfathered in, look for that loop hole to be closed soon.

Porgie T: Don't waste your time calling law enforcement for your situation. They won't do a thing. Contact your local Health Department and/or Zoning Department. 30 to 40 people living in a single family home constitutes a health hazard. They will have to act on it. Occupancy is based on X amount of square feet per person (codes may vary by municipalities). Your local Zoning Department will be able to help also. Chances are if the are is zoned residential single family and they have carved it up into apartments they are in violation of local zoning codes. You won't get immediate satisfaction. The owner of the home will be cited for the violations and given time to correct them, usually 30 to 60 days. When the homeowner starts facing daily fines until the violations are corrected I'll bet he'll bounce them right out on the street. We had a similar situation here in FL. We didn't get any satisfaction through any enforcement agencies. When the absentee homeowner started receiving citations in the mail from these two local boards threatening daily fines the problem went away. Give it a try, it can't hurt.

Forget your reports. Forget everything you've heard. What should scare you is that people like me are raising the future of your country. Given the staggering statistics on illegal immigrants that you keep regurgitating, you'd think you'd be a little bit more receptive.

You should hope that they show you more compassion, understanding, love, sympathy, and consideration while they're feeding you your strained carrots well into your golden years than you ever showed them or their parents.

Things - all things. Actions and words - have a way of coming back and biting you in the ass. Remember that. Karma's a bitch, man.

I'm just the mother of three. Just think of how many millions more just like me are out there being subjected to the same kind of hate that you're spewing here. Just think about how many grudges are being formed each time the phrase "anchor baby" is tossed around.

The children are our future. Melanin or not. The future of our country. The future of our government. The future of the very world as we know it. You think about that.

WELL.....WELL.....Senobia, love - we'll fix this....you'll see. Keep talking, baby and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk. You see, you actually have some really great points and you have TONS to offer the immigration debate....but of course, you already know that.

And, you are absolutely correct. We don't teach civil allegiance to our students - we ASSUME it is taught at home. However, when so many fight to eek out the living they manage, allegiance doesn't come easily. It breeds bitterness and betrayal and leaves many thinking that they will forever be persecuted.

I don't think so. You see, we are women and men - ALL races, ALL nationalities - WE are America.

Just vote and I'll be posting links to polls online. It's time to take out the trash, darlin' and you are just the one to help tighten the lid.

Sigh......Porgie.....I admit that regardless of which side of this debate you are on....I always, always give the benefit of the doubt. Well, no more. I'm sorry I wasted my time on you - wait, I take that back - I'm actually not - otherwise those who haven't made up their minds wouldn't have such a fine example of what THEY ARE NOT.

You are a sick, sick person. I sincerely hope you don't kill some poor brown person just for being there. Just keep talking, we're listening - America is listening - you have our ear. We need to know what motivates this sentiment in this country. WE NEED TO REMEMBER AND YOU REMIND US.

Sandy...rather than look the fool than be the one you proved yourself to be in your earlier posts. Rather than accept a truth set before your eyes, you want to turn and twist the truth around in a vain attempt at making good people bad.

George honestly pointed out a truthful situation, that illegals have moved into the sheet rocking sector of the contruction trade here in America, and brought down the wage base...instead of accepting that truth, you tried to make it seem that he WAS LAZY, or inexperienced compared to the Mexican Illegals. I pointed out the disparity that is created for TAX PAYING American workers and the companies that hire them when illegals are working off the books, and you ignored it, instead choosing to attack my own real life experiences...as if in some way, you think it fine and dandy that illegals are living 30 to a house, you chose to again turn it around, ignore the wrong of the illegals, and put all the blame on a supposed racist American. Ask yourself who is being played here...I learned a LONG TIME AGO, you give a moron enough rope, and they hang themselves. You and Snobia are such EASY TARGETS, liking shooting fucks in a barrel as the old saying goes. Could you make it any easier to extract your own prejudices? Snobia broke down and got pissed in no time, spouting forth the LA RAZA ONE RACE PARTY LINE...WE ARE THE FUTURE, WE'LL REMEMBER how you treated us when we are feeding your strained carrots....GUESS WHAT, I can find that rabid hatred on Atzlan's web pages. Illegals ONLY CARE ABOUT ILLEGALS, they have no respect of America, or our ways and laws, and from what I have seen, NO SELF RESPECT OR DIGNITY.

Wal-Mart ? I Googled " sweatshops " and Wal-Mart popped up all over the place. There are numerous law suits against that company for violations of child labor laws, deleting worked overtime, forcing employees to work while they are clocked out of lunch, the list goes on and on, and these law suits were filed by American employees. I worked for that company for 15 years, so I know how they operate.

Yes, Wal-Mart hires illegals. This Mexican woman applied for a job where I work now. I offered her a job, and I showd her the I-9 form and the documents that are required, and she couldn't produce the required documents. She now works at the local Wal-Mart as a cashier.

Immigrants for the most part have a much better work ethic than American workers and I'll hire them anytime, but they've gotta be legal !

What about the Chinese situation ? According to one website, there an estimated 500,000 illegal Chinese immigrants in the U.S. and appx 36,000 awaiting deportation, but China won't take them back.

Also, considering that there are more Chinese restaurants in the States than McDonalds restaurants, I would bet that the 500,000 number is quite low. Sorry, but I doulbt very seriously that a Chinese national can get a visa to work in the States in a Chinese restaurant.

Then factor in the Human Trafficking element. The Chinese often have to work off their smuggling debt that they owe to a Human Smuggler called a " Snakehead ", so for the most part their only future here in the States is working in Chinese restaurants, sweatshops in Chinatown., or for the worst, brothels if they are female. Is our country really the " Golden Mountain " as the Chinese call it ?

Hm? How do we know they are illegal aliens? Good question -- that is not our job, it is the employer's job and they are not doing it. The benefits which accrue to America from speaking a common language are and have been massive in creating a common culture, yet allowing diversity. I believe the anecdotal evidence is pretty strong for an immense number of illegal aliens in this country -- obviously their existence plagued Clinton in some of his early attempts at appointing cabinet members. If you recall he had a string of embarrassing faux pas when people he went to appoint were found to have illegal aliens working as nannies and servants. Of course there is going to be racial profiling, and of course white caucasians without foreign accents are going to be stopped and questioned less frequently than persons of middle-eastern descent or hispanic descent. There is a reason for that namely most illegal aliens come from such groups -- its is a harsh and inconvenient truth, that does not mean we just quit trying to enforce the law, it just means we have to be more tactful and considerate, and we need to focus on the employers more than the employees. We are never going to get this phenomenon under control until we get heavy enforcement against the business community which is aiding and abetting the illegals. And, yes -- I do believe employers are recruiting illegal aliens.

What it is to us, is that they are aiding fiscal right wing in maintaining a perpetual peasant class in America. They reduce the demand for labor. The other problem is that so long as their home countries can send their unemployed and underemployed to America and have them send their earnings back to wherever they came from there is never going to be a critical mass build up sufficient to provoke a redistribution of wealth in their own native land. For heaven's sake, wake up -- our trade policies only benefit the elite in the countries we are shipping our factories to -- many of these countries need to have full scale democratic revolt to dislodge the moneyed elites. We are not helping when we provide the safety valve that keeps them from social and economic turmoil -- they need to stay in their homeland and fight for economic justice there instead of coming here and complaining of racism while they drive down the wages of their American compatriots!

I've spent the last 24 hours reading everything from top to bottom, and I've got to give the thumbs up for PORGIE! You go! I'm in support of EVERYTHING you have to say, amongst the other few, Eamon W.'s advice on calling the Health Department, I would start there! I feel your PAIN, as I too have seen this in my own backyard here in NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA the capitol of IMMIGRANTS ABROAD. I can go on and on about how frustrating it is that our own goverment hasn't gotton a clue about protecting our boarders, but I am disgusted with the BIG/SMALL COMPANIES who are PANDERING to these ILLEGALS and hiring them. I agree totally...they are DRIVING THE WAGES DOWN, but that is only the tip of the iceburg! They are driving the QUALITY OF LIFE DOWN in our neighborhoods, our schools here in California are the worst, because they are so overcrowded, and the quality of learning is stifled because of the non-english speaking children of immigrants! Now let's talk about our welfare system! They are draining our resources tremendously. Do you know that Santa Ana is the MECCA of unmarried teenage pregnancies? Who pays for their stay in the hospitals? These are the facts!! PLAIN AND SIMPLE! THEY ARE OVERCROWDING OUR SCHOOLS, DRAINING OUR WELFARE SYSTEMS AND THEIR CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR IS ON THE RISE, AND IT'S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE, IF OUR GOVERMENT DOESN'T START CRACKING DOWN ON THESE BUSINESSES WHO HIRE ILLEGALS, AND START DRYING UP THE GOVERMENT RESOURCES FOR FREE AID, ETC...AND SHUTTING DOWN THE BORDERS. WHAT ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY? THE ONE THING AMERICANS HAVE PAID INTO ALL THEIR LIVES, FOR IT TO BE HANDED DOWN TO AN ILLEGAL ALIEN AFTER A FEW YEARS OF WORK? GET A GRIP YOU PEOPLE! WE DON'T WANT IT HERE. IF YOU BREAK OUR LAWS, THERE SHOULD BE NO REWARDS. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. One more thing. I just returned from a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah. I was in awe when I stopped to look around at who was working the cash registers, cleaning the floors, working in the 7-11's behind the counter, working as bus boys, waiters, drive-thru's, CAR WASHES...yes CAR WASHES. None other than the TEENAGE GIRLS/BOYS, TWENTY SOMETHING MEN/WOMEN WHITE FOLK. YOU SAY MEXICANS TAKE THE JOBS AMERICANS WON'T? HAH...TRY AGAIN! GO VISIT SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, BOUNTIFUL, UTAH, CENTERVILLE, UTAH, LAYTON, UTAH, WEST JORDAN, UTAH, AS I CAN GO ON AND ON. I SEEN IT FIRST HAND. The reason why I was so FLOORED, so to speak, was I actually understood the person on the otherside of the speaker as I ordered my BURGER KING. I was in Smith's Food Market, looking for some Burt's Bees Cosmetics, and as I turned around to a voice so politely asking me if they could help me out, they actually SPOKE ENGLISH. A worker, mind you mopping up an isle that had spilt milk, who was as English Speaking as I am. Oh, and working the same job the "MEXICAN WORKER" only does. Now, before you start in on me and call me a BIGOT/RACIST (and you certain people know who you are), I am of HISPANIC HERITAGE. My family came here LEGALLY!!! Did you hear me? LEGALLY!!!! I am HERNANDEZ (maiden name), and frankly I am sick of hearing how we, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OWE THESE IMMIGRANTS A FREE RIDE/FREE PASS. I'M SICK TO DEATH OF THESE PROTESTS HERE AND THE MEXICAN FLAG BEING WAVED AROUND. I'M SICK OF DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND SEEING EVERY OTHER BILLBOARD IN SPANISH. I'M SICK AND TIRED OF GETTING ADVERTISEMENTS IN SPANISH. THIS IS AMERICA. NOT MEXICO, CHINA, CUBA, ETC.....IT'S TIME FOR A REFORM, AND GOD HELP OUR LOCAL GOVERMENTS, AND NATIONAL GOVERMENTS. GOD HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, and that includes my family and my future grandchildren and their children.

In the eighties I worked for a small industrial business that employed quite a few illegal aliens. It was filthy, dangerous, exhausting work. I was a skilled worker so I didn't have to do sand blasting. :) When I supervised the graveyard shift I had two employees, both illegals from Mexico. They were conscientious, intelligent and hard working. They were so much better than the American citizens that there was no comparison. Admittedly it's anecdotal evidence. All I know is that I was proud to know Miguel and his son Javier, Luis and his son Juan, Antonio the maintenance man, and a bunch of others.

I live in the SF Bay Area where Spanish speaking legal and illegal immigrants make up a significant portion of the population, not to mention the Asians both legal and the ones smuggled over in cargo ships. I just can't see them as a threat. Maybe I'm naive.

On my dad's side I'm second generation American born so I'm not so far removed from the old country.

Oh, the language thing. There aren't many countries where everyone speaks the same language. We're just catching up.

Porgie- I guess you are landscape designer as evidenced by that sailboat. I was referring to the Mexican landscaping day laborers who are mowing lawns for owners of landscaping businesses. I don't think they are stealing any lucrative positions from anyone. As I stated, I agree with the need to secure our borders for our national security. Isn't anyone concerned with more terrorists entering our borders? As a survivor of both the 1993 and 2001 WTC bombings, it concerns me more than I can put into words.

The "Illegals being subsidized by Our Tax Dollars" thing is just plain untrue. Reputable studies have shown that regardless of whether or not they pay income tax, illegals contribute more to govt coffers than they get back. They're paying sales tax, property tax (through their rent), gasoline tax....It's hard for them to get the kinds of govt services available to citizens.

I'd prefer that people entered the country legally but I don't think that a lot of the ones who haven't are a threat to me. I'm sorry that something like this becomes a focus for peoples' anger.

Nippy Katz...

Hard to get government services? Read this:

Letter to Colorado DA's

As you may know, Jefferson County District Attorney Scott Storey recently sought and obtained indictments against several individuals who obtained loans for illegal aliens using false identity documents, employment information, and credit histories. The transactions in this initial indictment involved loans for more then thirty homes totaling nearly $7 million.

The scheme that District Attorney Storey has uncovered is not confined to Jefferson County. According to several recent news reports, it is rampant and widespread. CNN recently reported that some $16 million in fraudulent loans have been uncovered in Denver – and at least one government source told The Denver Post that around 20,000 illegal immigrants hold Federal Housing Administration loans in the Denver Metro Area alone.

In Kansas City, two individuals recently plead guilty to securing more than twenty federally backed loans for illegal aliens, and in Utah illegal aliens purchased nearly ninety homes costing the government almost $3 million.

These statistics are troubling – perhaps more troubling, they are likely only the tip of the iceberg. These fraudulent loans lead to increased foreclosures which affects all homeowners. Worse still, this practice allows countless individuals in the country illegally to establish false identities in homeownership. This poses a threat to national security that is not insignificant.

District Attorney Storey has taken an important first step in Colorado in cracking down on crooked elements in the real estate industry that are putting profits before patriotism. I hope that you will consider taking similar steps in your jurisdiction to actively investigate and prosecute unscrupulous individuals who are putting all of us at risk by engaging in this dishonest, illegal, and unfortunately lucrative practice.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

/s/

Tom Tancredo, M.C.

You think that because they pay "sales tax" that they are not a "threat"?

Nippy...you show me a study with figures and I'll listen. Look around you! OPEN YOUR EYES! Look at what walks the streets! I don't speak for other cities or states, but come take a walk through Southern California! Look what's hanging on every other block waiting for someone to pick them up and give them a job, even if it's just for a day! What kind of quality of living is that? IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS 100 feet away!! You say the pay sales tax, property tax, gasoline tax? What about our costs for HEALTH CARE? Do you think fresh over the border, they are able to just anti-up on the $100's of dollars it cost to enroll in a Health Care Plan? No, they're here to get what they can. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. They know it's here, so they come here to collect. Do you think they care if the AMERICAN WORKER FOOTS THE BILL? Please!!! I know first hand from several of my friends working in goverment sponsered programs etc...who it sickens them to see them come in here, wait in line for our services, and all they have to do is lie...lie..lie and poof...they wait for their food stamps, medi-cal, assistance. It's become a business, and the people who have come before them, know the system and there you are. They (the people from over the border), tell them what to do and what to say. Who to go see, where, etc..etc..And yes...this is the focus of my anger! The American People Have Spoken....And we're sick of it! Thanks H.G. by the way! I'm glad you know what I'm saying! Senobia, If your own common sense can't tell you why it's dangerous or otherwise unsafe for 30 people living in a SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING then you'll have to do you're own research or call the HEALTH DEPARTMENT and ask them why. And as for the questions you posed to Andrea, we all already know the answers to them. Nice try though.

Has anyone seen any suspicious activity in Chinese restaurants ?

I often have lunch at this particular Chinese restaurant where I have witnessed suspicious activity.

This restaurant has a very high turnover of waitresses, I counted 12 different waitresses in a 2 week period. Each time that I went there, there would be 2 new waitreses with the previous 2 gone.

2 of the Chinese girls told me that they lived in a house with all of the workers from the restaurant and they were not allowed to leave except to go to work. One of the girls asked me if I had a house that she could stay in.

I also know of 3 Hispanics who worked at the restaurant. 2 of them were adult males from Guatemala, and 1 was a juvinile male from Honduras. All 3 worked there 14 hours per day, 7 days per week for 3 weeks. They wern't allowed to eat or take a break. After 3 weeks of this abuse, they all walked off the job. Also, none of them were paid. Actually, this was reported to the Department of Labor, and of course they did nothing. I thought that slavery was abolished in our country in 1865 ?

At this point, I suspected that some sort of Human Trafficking or forced labor was going on here. I reported this to Covenanthouse, which is an organization that claims to help victims of Human Trafficking. They put me in touch with 2 ICE agents and 1 FBI agent.

These agents spent more time following me around than they did on the investegation of the restaurant. The FBI agent showed me his Glock handgun ( no kidding, FBI agents carry handguns ) and the ICE agents came to my house and checked out my web browser to see where I was going on the internet. They also told me that if I told anyone that I was providing information to them, they would have to treat me " differently" , which was an obvious threat.

They left my house and raided the restaurant and arrested the illegal workers, 2 Chinese and 3 Hispanics, and no charges were filed against the owner of the restaurant. The agents said that they couldn't prove any forced labor or Human Trafficking. Also they said that they couldn't prove that the owner knowingly hired illegals.

Since the raid took place, 3 international students, 2 Chinese and 1 Thai came to me looking for a job after they were fired from the restaurant. All 3 of them told me up front that they didn't have any of the documents required for the I-9 form and they were not permitted to work off-campus. If they told me this up front, I'm sure that they told the owner of the Chinese restaurant as well. Of course I refused to hire them respectfully and I advised them to come back once they aquired the proper ducuments.

I reported this to ICE ( Immigration and Customs Enforcement ) and of course they did nothing. The restaurant is still open for buisness and back to it's old ways.

The people who hire illegal immigrants must be held accountable. If ICE is going to arrest and deport the illegals, then shouldn't the people who hire them face the same fate !

Thanks H.G.

In the case of the Chinese restaurant that I wrote about, both the owner and manager of the restaurant are legal Chinese immigrants. However they broke the law in order to take advantage of cheap labor, and in turn they abused the workers who were here illegaly and had no recourse to file a complaint. My solution ? Even though the owner and manager are legal immigrants, they should be deported directly to a prison in China. I'm sure that the punishment there would be much harsher than a U.S. prison.

Also, American companies and employers who hire, under pay and abuse illegal immigrants should all be deported directly to prisons in China, Mexico or the " Bangkok Hilton " in Thailand. Oh yeah, why don't we deport the ICE and FBI agents who turn a blind eye to this problem as well. As far as I'm concerned, they are just as bad.

Once I reached working age, my parents required me to work if I needed something. If I needed a new pair of jeans, sneakers or even gas for my car ( which I had to pay for myself , the car that is) , I had to work for it.

When I wasn't in school, I hauled hay, I drove tractors, I cut weeds from fence lines ( without a weedeater ) or I mowed yards. My parents were well of. They had more than enough money to buy me those things, but they required me to work inorder to teach me some work ethic.

When I was a senior in high school, my parents told me that I had to get a part time job, so I went to work for Wal-Mart part time for minimum wage. 6 years later I was promoted into managemant. Looks like the work ethic that my parents tought me paid off. Even though I no longer work for Wal-Mart, having those 15 years of experience with that company on my resume pays huge dividens.

The problem nowadays is that some parents aren't teaching their children about work ethic, and those same parents are from the same generation that I'm from ?

So what's wrong with your child working at Burger King when he or she is in High School ? Who knows ? Maybe 6 years down the road your child may be the next Manager .

If we don't correct our own work ethic and the work ethic of our own children, maybe the next manager will be Yun Fun Su from China or Rafial DeJesus Fernandez from Latin America because those people have work ethic.

With me being a Manager, if I had to choose between some punkass American kid with is pants hanging half the way down his ass with the knees ripped out and wearing a t-shirt that says " go to hell, kiss my ass " or Yun Fun Su who is wearing nice clothes and going to school and permitted to work off-campus, guess who I'm going to hire ? Yun Fun Su is getting money from his parents in China, but it's considered to be a loss of face in China to receive money without earning it, so Yun Fun Su wants to work to earn his own way. We need to teach our children to do the same.

The sad part about these threads is the fact that they die out after a couple of days, and so will our country .

No, HG. It's your gripe so the burden of proof falls on you.

How does 30 people living in one house affect YOU, PERSONALLY or ANYBODY ELSE that is not one of the said 30 people?

Aside from that, what are the stalking laws where you live? If you know so much about these people, you've had to invest quite a bit of time into following them and spying on them to find out. That sort of thing is frowned upon and, in some cases, highly illegal.

I do so love being devious....put up a GREAT post like this, let people like Snobia and Debbie start ranting about their love of illegals, and BAM....people on the side of LAW AND ORDER SHOW up, and get recruited to the cause....as William suggested, all of you who believe in LEGAL IMMIGRATION, do not embrace AMNESTY, and who feel ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS WRONG should visit the ALIPAC site....you'll learn a lot, including how HORRID this infestation of illegal immigration really is.

How does thirty people in one house affect us....OH gee, first you have the noise, you have the unhealthy and unsafe living conditions. You have a house that begins to get run down, thus bringing down the property values of the homes surrounding it....I'd say if 30 people living in one house costs the adjoining properties owners their hard earned EQUITY, it IS THEIR BUSINESS....face it SNobie, you are so PRO ILLEGAL it's not even funny....you think it is none of OUR BUSINESS, but bet your sweet princess ass would be in an uproar if it was the value of YOUR HOME being destroyed.

Senobia,

You might be a more eloquent writer than Porgie but the meat of almost all your comments is rotten to the core, childish, uninformed and downright silly.

From your comments it is very obvious that you have no personal or direct experience with illegals in middle or lower-middle class neighborhoods or actual interaction with the illegals. Your opinions seem to be crafted out of theory and PC rhetoric only.

We have a problem in this country with illegals. We as a nation need to find an equitable and fair solution, for all.

Porgies neighborhood problems are very, very real and I for one have great sympathy and compassion for the loss of Porgies quality of life.

Ah, Bruce. You're late to class. Where is your hall pass?

I *married* an illegal immigrant. A great number of my inlaws are *still* illegal immigrants. You know the old saying about what making "ass"umptions will do, right?

Asking the hard questions - see also: demanding proof of this mindless drivel that's being spewed - is a far cry from childish and silly. What is childish and silly is the tone these people take when their feet are held to the fire and they cannot produce said proof to back up said mindless drivel.

HG:

Hmm. Noise - so you need to clarify that and say "Thirty LOUD people living in one home". Unhealthy and unsafe living conditions.......for whom? Again, NOT YOU. Not for ANYONE not living in the group. A house that begins to be rundown - hmm. Not if they keep it up. Not if they're handy. Where they choose to live is not indicative of how. I love the "ass"umptions ever so much, but you still, darling, can't prove any of this or even make a valid point based on anything aside from your xenophobia.

SNobie....you show your own BROWN BIBOTRY with every post you make here....the LA RAZA rant of racism against all those who oppress those ILLEGALS you love, the lust of your own loins creating a blind hatred of those like myself who know the REAL TRUTH.

30 people living in one house DO CREATE health risks, and not JSUT FOR THEMSELVES. Two citations have been issued to the owner of that house regarding their garbage problem, because it was/is so out of hand that it had attracted RATS. Overcrowding of those two houses, and the unclean conditions of the heathens living in them have given our neighborhood a cockroach problem where NONE existed before.

It has created safety issues for OUR CHILDREN. First, parking has become an issue....where is it fair for two houses to use an entire block's PARKING? Secondly, because both sides of the street are now bumper to bumper cars, it's much harder to see children playing, you only seem them when they dart out from between two cars to retrieve their ball or other toy. Ambulances lose precious seconds because they have to walk down and around to and open driveway with their equipment, instead of being able to park RIGHT OUTSIDE whatever home has and emergency.

Does not matter WHAT WE PRESENT TO YOU, you do not want to hear it, or read it, but instead dismiss it as unimportant, and leap right to your BLAME GAME....it's time Latin's and Illegals both start taking care of their OWN NATIONS, THEIR OWN PEOPLE instead of telling us WE OWE THEM a space in America just because they want to be here....does not work that way, WE HAVE LAWS, and we are DEMANDING THEY BE ENFORCED.

But you never said how you know how many people live there. How *do* you know which ones are visiting and which ones claim it as their residence? How *do* you know which name is on the lease? Where is the factual information to back up your claims? Because you say so? Not good enough.

Rats and roaches come inside for many reasons besides filth. Ants...flies....lots of things seek shelter in our homes when things outside are not favorable.

Snobia.....you are married to an illegal, have admitted most of your INLAWS are illegals, and I would venture to say a few illegals are even in your OWN family tree...in short, you bring a bias and prejudice to your arguments that is glaring.

How do I know...IF I sit out on the deck of my pool, I have a GREAT VIEW of the comings and goings at that property. Documenting a problem is important when you have an agenda to END THE PROBLEM. As one example...when a van pulls up every morning, and the SAME MEN come out of a house, get in the van and drive away, gone all day, then the SAME VAN comes back at night and the SAME MEN get out and go back into the same house, they ARE LIVING THERE...it's documents, photographed, and even video taped. Day in, and day out, the same cars are parked in and around these houses, the same people are photographed coming into those houses at night, and leaving in the morning hours.
It's DOCUMENTED. You might think you are SLY, but you are not....YOU'LL ATTEMPT TO CLOUD THE WATERS, and try to CAST dispersions on any fact or person that wants ILLEGALS GONE.

You are the BIGOT, you are the RACIST, you are the one that aids and abets illegals, thus making you a CRIMINAL.

Senobia,

Sorry sweetheart, I've been away from the nerd box for awhile. Anyway, to find out what effects 30 people in a single family dwelling have on a community, YOU are going to have to check for yourself. Call the city, county, zoning commission, and as I stated before - the health dept. The rest of the people here seem to already know EXCEPT you. Ask those agencies why such laws were created. And as far as how a person knows how many people live in any given home and how many are visitors, that's easy! IT'S A MATTER OF PUBLIC RECORD! Anyone can go online or to the local courthouse and learn who the true owner of the house is and how many people are in HIS family. If they are renting, and have 30 people living there and cars taking up alot of the parking or several cars on the same property, they can be turned in by their neighbors as a public nuisance. Make no mistake about it, our neighbors are entitled to"quiet enjoyment" of their homes and these laws protect that entitlement. So with all due respect sweetheart, you should take up your argument with the aforementioned agencies.

Senobia,

I guess we all now know why you get so worked up...you must live in one of those houses with 30 of your new relatives.

I bet your parents are proud...whats that you say? All your illegal relatives are college professors and doctors and they all own homes, pay for medical insurance and contribute. I am sure they all speak perfect English and respect the American way of life and the laws that are in place to assure that the American way of life can continue.

Good lord girl why didn't you emigrate to the other side.

There are legal ways to immigrate to the USA and you seem proud that your in-laws are outlaws...Viva Zappata

LMAO! ME?! A criminal? You're reminding me of one of those "Minutemen" that I saw on TV that began shouting nonsense when cornered for factual information.

You might want to investigate unlawful surveillance laws, stalking laws, and refer to sections of the NY Penal Code §250.40 through §250.65 - before you begin making asinine accusations about other people.

Senobia....I have a right to have camera's on my own property...get over it.

If you are living with and illegal, and if you are helping others in your extended family who are illegally here remain in America, YES YOU ARE A CRIMINAL....just because a drug dealer does not get caught does not mean he is not breaking the law. Just because you have not beeen caught, or not been presecuted does not mean you are not breaking the law, are not a criminal.

Every one knew for years that Al Capone was a criminal, but it took tax evasion to put him behind bars.

H.G. - kindly refrain from calling me "sweetheart".

I'm not going to have to find out anything for myself. I'm not the one who is spewing BS about "what I know, what I know, believe me because it's true" to the online masses. None, do you hear me - not one, of the people to "claimed" property injustice could prove anything at all. Nothing. Not a damned thing did they have that was concrete. Until they do, there is no argument. It's a totally moot observation and waste of keystrokes to yip yap about it online.

::Make no mistake about it, our neighbors are entitled to"quiet enjoyment" of their homes and these laws protect that entitlement.::

You're ever so right about this point. Your neighbors, meaning the people you're making caustic statements about. They have the same entitlements as you do. That means to not be stalked, unlawfully put under surveillance, or be slandered by a bunch of old men who don't know their asses from holes in the ground about that which they rant.

Back to Porkie, yes you do, BUT! You do not have the right to point that camera at other people and photograph them.

Erm, no. I am not "living with an illegal". I said I married one...m a r r i e d one. Meaning he was "illegal" at the time of the nuptuals. He's now a legal permanent resident...but what's it to you?

And that's right...many, many of my inlaws are still illegal. What are you going to do about? What can you do about it? Same questions regarding the millions in the country just like them.

You're here courtesy of an immigrant. And before you say to me that they "came here legally", let me remind you that if it was as easy as passing a physical at their point of entry today we wouldn't be having this conversation.

HG....Snobia has her panties in a snit because her relatives are ILLEGALS. Fact is, America allows over one million people a year into America LEGALLY, so this whole business about how MEAN WE ARE is garbage....soemone needs to track down some ISP numbers, and report them to ICE and Homeland Securit
