A Little Girl's Question

When my daughter was about three years old, she asked me if we could go to the store to buy a baby.  Because the question took me a little by surprise, I didn't have an immediate answer.  So she answered her own question with the statement, "Daddy won't let us".  Then she thought for a moment and asked,  "Mommy, can we go to the store without daddy?"

One time when I had a new baby, I went shopping with the baby and my young son. A man stopped to admire the baby and asked my son if he knew where babies come from. My son quickly told him the WHOLE story of how a person gets a baby, then ended with "my daddy isn't home this weekend!" I was so embarrassed that I could have fallen through the floor! The man just chuckled and walked away.

Glad you enjoyed it. That little girl was 40 years old on Wednesday. Her brother, who was born about a year after my daughter asked this question will be 36 next month.

:) Ahhh, Kids!! Love how they think! If it was just that simple, huh?!? Then I wouldn't have these darn stretch marks!! lol But I wouldn't trade them for anything--small price to pay for such a blessing(s)

when they grow up and you tell them things they said when they were little they say no I didn't. Thye don't remember as well as you do or maybe don't want to admit to it. but they can come up with some great thinking at a small age. very cute
