In the back, at the puppy cages were three lovely Pit Bull young'uns with a sign that said 'FREE!' and the guy working said that if they didn't find homes TONIGHT they would be going to the shelter.
Two blacks and a buckskin, the blacks were males, the buckskin a young girl . She came home with me that night. that was three, almost four years ago, never had I had a puppy give me such a hard time, loved to romp and play, chewed literally anything she could get her mouth on, and thought that plastic was a primary food group.
Outside of immediate family she is my closest friend.
Ever since she was a pup I took food from her, not long ago it occurred to me that I hadn't done in awhile, so I stuck my hand in her mouth to take back the rawhide chew I'd given her and found that it was so far gone I couldn't get a hand on it.... so I patted her head, told her it was all right and she looked in my eyes and working it to the front of her mouth put it in my hand.
I named her Chaka.
you have to be...
1. strong enough to have one of these dogs...
2. smart enough to love them...
3. kind enough to get them to trust you.

which, Nathan doesn't mean that they are bad or vicious, just means that they are srtong and smart.
I knew peopl who had kids, seemed like one after the other five or six.. they had a male and a female who treated those kids like cotton balls.. one afternoon I saw one of the young obys take off his shoe and begin BEATING the male in the face with it..
the was a loud sigh... the dog gently took the shoe from the boy and brought it over to me.
It's like a painter once told me "everybody thinks all paiters are drunks becasue anybody they see in a bar drinking in the white clothes is a painter.. BUT cooks wear white clothes, sailor whear white clothes and not just dress uniforms, some delivery guys wera white clothes..
and of course the "media" who has NEVER been WRONG about anything always knows the difference between a American Bulldog and anything with a funny shaped head.. NOT.
My (then 83 year old) Mom was scheduled to have EIGHT teeth pulled the next day.. one pup was all I could handle and even then she could have stood more attention. She lives in my workshop and I got out there in the evening and we watch Teevee and I feed her. I bought a International truck seat for her (about 5 feet long) to sleep on and she's happy.

they where and are still bread to fight, Fighting is their instinct, like a Golden Retrievers instincts are to retrieve, that is why they always have to bring you something. Instinct takes a long time to bread out. Not for the average owner, please to many children are mould and bitten.
But this is a very beautiful dog. Lloyd, so well put together and look at those muscles, and then that look of authority. Uh I would not like to come and visit you, he is a bit scary. the bite on a Pit bull comes close to an alligator, you can't open it if he does not want to.
