Introduction
The pictures I have pasted here are presented courtesy of the National Library of Medicine. They probably got some of them from a state college in Oregon where Pauling went to school. Pauling was probably the most famous person ever to come out of that college.

Shown here is Linus, his wife, and Linus Jr., who is now a scientist, carrying on his Father's work on orthomolecular medicine.

Shown here is Linus Pauling in 1922.
This is Pauling at Oregon Agricultural College.

I was thinking of presenting more pictures of Pauling, but I decided to save some for a Sixties collage. In my opinion Pauling reached his peak fame in the Sixties after a very controversial paper in 1968 in which he introduced "orthomolecular psychiatry". Later he expanded orthomolecular medicine to cancer, atherosclerosis, etc. The Sixties collage will be for the new Sixties group.
