It's another misty morning
And the clover field is deep
Came outside to clear the cobwebs
From my head of last night's sleep
Saw your face outside my window
Peering in before the dawn
When I smiled and bid you enter
Like a phantom you were gone
Did I dream I saw you, lover?
Were you just a mem'ry sweet?
Hmm, perhaps if I wish harder
I could conjure you complete
All alone upon my pillow
I imagined us entwined
Whisp'ring love in secret places
Leaving modesty behind
Through the night we kissed and murmured
Till enraptured we lay spent
Then I woke to view my window
Where your image came and went
Blinked my eyes just to be certain
You were no where to be seen
Just a lost manifestation
Of this lover's longing dream
It's another misty morning
And the clover field is deep
Came outside to clear the cobwebs
From my head of last night's sleep

for so many images delight
Just like you I felt a visit
in the middle of the night.
Strange how it went
thought my lover did smile
As I finally got up and shaved
know she peeped a little while.
But before I actually arose
the air wafting in on me
lingered her delicious scent
like aristocracy.
Did she or didn't she
come visit me in the night
for all the lovely thoughts
brought on full a delight.
Beautifully writ.
PS I can picture your black kitty lurking in that swirling fog. Beautiful lighting in the composition; it gives the illusion of spilling in with the mist.
Beautiful, my dear.
That's just a wonderful photo to accompany your very nice love poem.
Edward, this I shall have to read.
Thanks
I can feel the mist collecting on me as I read this. Good job.
So glad I came to read!
Peace
