I posted an article castigating Gather for its upcoming advertising campaign on Fox News a couple of hours ago. From the moment it was published, I stopped getting any email from Gather. No notification that I had just posted (a silly habit I've decried in the past) and not a single word about anyone commenting, although there are now almost 40 comments, last time I looked. Not a word about anyone else's work, either.
As a rule, I spend eight to ten hours a day reading and answering emails from Gather, watching my mailbox click every few minutes with a new notice about some Gather activity. Yet, there has been complete silence since I hit 'enter' on that post.
Can someone tell me what's going on? Is anyone else experiencing a Gather blackout? Or am I out here all alone? Shunned like a fornicating Amish maiden. (sob)

It may take a minute to appear as
I have to run it through spell check before I post it.
Sandy, I know there have been glitches of this sort in the past, but it just seems odd that this would happen at that precise moment. I still don't know if I am being singled out for posting an adverse article or if I've come down with a severe case of paranoia.
Gather. It's sort of like having rats in your attic. You know they are there but never see them and catching them is difficult. Ratings don't really matter with most of the content we see here anyway. Keep your chin up.
A few people have stopped receiving notifications, due to some glitch...I dont get all the notifications I should, but I do get most.
Did you contact support@gather.com ?
Ignore the rating, it happens to all of us at some point. It means you have arrived.
I just gave you a 10.
Gretel, thanks for the crone defense. I don't give a crap about ratings, either, considering the source. I'm accustomed to being slammed for my opinions. It just surprised me on this one, because I couldn't see anything controversial in the content. BTW, who is Andre?
Donna.. trolls could indeed be the cause of this eff-up.. I hear them chortling and snorting outside my window as we speak.
Believe me, I don't give a flying intercourse about the ratings... never understood their purpose in the first place. At the outset, I thought they were like a test score on an English exam, but after reading some of the semi-literate banalies that received high grades, I realized that couldn't be the case. If they have any significance at all, I neither know nor care. I only mentioned it because it happened to catch my eye as I was zipping down the page and wondered why anyone would bother to rate it at all, much less give it a one or two or whatever number they can count to.

A flying intercourse, I would not like that one. LOL.
Check the link on Sandy's post above for more on this subject.
Some people have experienced a lack of notifications, did you ask Liz Rice-Sosne if hers ever got fixed? She's had that problem for a while.
I had that problem for a few hours.
It is a glitch.
Andre, after artist Carl Andre. The previous Gather version was Magritte. Cute.
