A Suggestion for content settings

This specifically applies to group owners here on gather.com.  When you go to your group and view the recent articles you will see content settings in a clickable link next to the date of the article at the far right side.

When you click this on you as the group owner have the option of removing an off-topic article from your group or featuring said article within the group.

I would like to see a section within the removal portion where the group owner can type out a message indicating the reason for the removal.  This would cut down on the private message that is sometimes sent by group owner to explain the reason.

Since clicking on to remove an article from the group generates an email from gather.com, why not include a text message box for a personalized message.  There will be one email through the system and no need for the group owner to take more steps to send the member a private message.

I feel this would be beneficial to group owners and help morale across the site for members to know the reason and require less mail/messages from the site.

Has this been discussed before on the site or suggested elsewhere?  Any thoughts or ideas from those receiving emails from group owners about rejected articles and from the group owners.

I don't send out emails when I remove an article, are others doing this for every rejection?
