The First Gather Labor Day Picnic: Thanks for Coming!!!

The OHC Labor Day Party hosted by the Old Hippies Corner (OHC) in beautiful downtown Paris, Texas, was a blast! Thank y'all for coming.

All is well that ends well.  Elko got "Miss Pearl" out of the police impound lot this morning and she still runs. You can't beat a Pete!

Paris will not charge us for damages to the Eiffel Tower. As luck would have it, the town just received a Homeland Security Grant to upgrade the tower for some classified communication gear. In the words of a fairly hung over Del Beavis, "The Possum Ball 2006 was fun and good business for Paris, Texas. Thank y'all for coming. If you're fixin' on having a race next year, I hope it's a sack race!"

Colonel, I am so sorry for not making it. I decided to come in person after all. But the craziest thing happened on my way to Paris. First off I decided to come via a motorized wheel chair, you know the ones they have at grocery store, with a basket. I needed a place to put my homemade potato salad and my mtn. dew. Anyway I'm traveling down the interstate (I was on the shoulder,since there ain't no wheelchair lane)when out of the blue this great big white frightliner comes past me pulling this guy on a bike. I tell you that boy was hollering like nothing I've ever seen.That bike was twisting in the air, kicking up dust all over the place. Well, I've seen strange but I believe that's the strangest thing I've ever seen! Well, that's what I thought. Colonel, it was a strange day indeed. I think somebody slipped something in my dew cause I got alittle farther down the road and I looked up in the sky; I'm kinda afraid to tell ya this part,you may think I'm crazy. I just gotta tell ya. I looked up and lo and behold I saw a gnome flying through the air with that same fella and his bike. It might have been the heat, maybe it was the excitement of coming to Paris, but I swear I saw a gnome carrying a fella south. It was more than I could take. I turned around and came home. I made an appointment with my doctor. Wish me well colonel, I'm afraid I'm awful sick or there are flying gnomes over tennessee.
