Did you ever do the Cabbage Soup diet? You could eat as much of the stuff as you wanted because it had so few calories. Most of my friends complained about this diet and didn't stay on it long because they hated the soup. Moi? I LOVED the stuff. I would eat bowl after bowl of the stuff. With just the right salt and paper, it really isn't all that bad. And it's packed with great vegies!
Here in New England, we are just beginning to enter soup season. If you like soup as much as I do, this is a GREAT time of year. I could eat soup (good soup...not just the cans of sodium sold at the store) at every meal. Soup provides a lot of taste and has the chance to fill you up before you reach the bottom of the bowl because it takes you longer to eat it.
If you are a weirdo like me and actually liked the Cabbage Soup in the Cabbage Soup Diet, you might want to look up the recipe.
Find recipes for the soups you love and share them with me. I'm always up for trying a new soup!

Julie, I'm not that fond of coleslaw, either. It's usually the dressing made for it I don't like. I don't like it sweet.
Karen, great suggestion! This soup will be a great way to cook up and store autumn vegies. Thanks!
There is a bit of sodium in tomatoes -- 3 mg per tomato. Where you'll get more sodium is in the Lipton Soup mix and boullions that are included in the recipe. If you have a problem with sodium, these can be replaced with low-sodium alternatives. If you are just worried about retaining water because of the sodium content, drink a lot of water throughout the day. The more you drink, the less you'll retain.
