On the "Articles" --> "Recent Articles" page, currently it only allows members to navigate by "First", "Prev", and "Next". I would like to suggest that Gather.com add a "Jump to Page so-and-so" link.
You see, as of right now, there are 3046 pages. I joined Gather.com a little over a month ago when there were 2400-something pages. Every time when I log on to Gather.com, I always like to scan through the titles of all the "Recent Articles". If I see a title that I am interested in, then I click on it and read it. I don't use tags because I have found that people use tags improperly. When I search by a "tag", I always get a lot of unrelated search results.
So, I have thought about it a few times -- what do those "old" articles look like? I am sure there are many many great articles that were posted on page 1 or 2 or page 83 that I would have enjoyed. But now, if I want to get to them, I will have to click the "Next" link over 3000 times. That is just impossible.
So, I think it will be great if I can just jump to page, say, 239, and see what's out there. This will also allow some really good and "deeply buried" articles to resurface.

Yep you are on a roll girl.
In the interim, I have published a technique that allows you skip back quickly through pages, for articles images and comments. You may view that article HERE.
You can also obtain good results using the article search function at the top of all Gather pages. While tags are not always used appropriately, searching for text in the title and body of an article can be a very effective means of locating articles which are of special interest to you. HERE is an article I published which provides a detailed review of commands you can use when searching for articles (note: this article reflects an earlier Gather design, but the commands remain unchanged).
