Could we have an "Edit" function to the Comments? Currently, we can only edit an article. But sometimes we make mistakes and have typos in our comments. I hate typos, and I try to review what I post before I hit the "Post" button. But sometimes I slip. Right now, since comments cannot be edited, I have to delete the comment and repost it. Sometimes this causes some "timing" or sequencing issues. For example, someone may have responded to my comment, and then I realized I needed to edit (or, delete and repost) my comment. Then, my comment will show up after that person's response, and then the whole thing doesn't make sense any more...
Another example is that I might be a little rushed when I posted my comment. Then, later I thought of something to add or to clarify. I don't really like to post another comment right after my own comment. If I have the option to edit, I would rather edit instead of posting another comment.

I totally agree with this. I work on another site as a Moderator and though "only" the Mods can delete a post or an article, anyone can edit their own posts or articles which makes sense to me as we "all" have typos, some of us more others, and as you say, especially when we're rushing.
The other reason is that at times, at least I reread what I posted and want to word it differently or just change things around a bit and add on to it, rather than making a whole new post--I truly don't understand why that option isn'tn available. Thanks for writing this - I'm a bit new to gather to know what's what, but you have put many things in perspective for me.

I delete the comment.
I click the back button to return to the page where the comment showed.
I copy the comment to be edited.
I paste the comment into a new window box.
I edit the comment and click post.
The edited comment shows in the comment box.
I highlight the comment and copy it (Control + C).
Then I delete it.
Then I paste the comment in the new comment window, edit it, and post it.
I am not just trying to "be different". But the reason I suggest to copy it before you delete it is because sometimes the old comment page would not reload when I click on the "Back" button. I don't know if it is my browser or what. But if I don't copy before I delete it, I can lose it forever. So I always make sure I copy it first, before I delete it.
