The Suggestion Box is a group where members will post articles of their ideas for making the site navigate better and faster and function smoother.

Here is where you will offer suggestions on the site design, buttons, points offerings, slowness of the site, comments section, most discussed listings, most read and highest rated lists for day, week and month.

Want to offer some tips on group creations, email notification, private messaging system, invites to groups, listing of groups, connecting to other members, flagging articles, mature content, loading images, the point system, the gatherings, the chat system, home page features and anything else that has to do with the gather.com site.

This is a group for suggestions only, not any rants or complaints. You can go through your past articles and post a compilation of any suggestions you have made thus far. There is no limit to the number of articles, but please make sure they are on the topic of suggestions only.

Helping the site with our suggestion box is what this group is about. Think positive instead of negative and offer your two cents on how to have this site flow more effectively for all members.

Ohhhh, yay.

Gather needs to employ a full-time copyright checker for the images being posted with the articles or else remove its "Do not upload copyrighted images" stipulation from its TOS.

It's ever so annoying to see a featured article courtesy of a "borrowed" picture whose owner never gets credit.

It depends on whether you have been signed in prior to clicking on that link in an email. But yes you will have to sign in to respond if it is the first time coming to gather for that day or that connection period if on dial up.

Hope that makes sense.

I haven't been here long enough to even know what the problems are, but I'll keep this in mind. It's always nice to have a place to suggest ways of improving a site. Nice bumping into you over here!

Good Idea Bonnie ,because this has happened to me and I have dialup. I go to give a comment and it opens another box saying sign in, but this is not annoying to me because I am used to things sometimes being slow. Some maybe don't have the patience I have with this thing. I would wait all day or come back to it later and have sometimes ,and did it when I had more time. I am only here in the morning and in the evenings to read write and delete mail so I am not one to be here as much as I used to be. I am looking for work and don't have the time as much, but I manage to get here to read and leave comments and write a few articles. I have a few in mind to write about, I just have to have the time to get them all in. Thanks Bonnie and the suggestion box is a great isdea

This is a great idea I have been going to all of the different site and some of them need review I agree if you post an image you should give credit to the person who it goes to. Thanks I think a lot of people forget to vote. When you vote does it take away points. How can you get up to the points to recieve a gift card. Someone said they could get 3000 points in a month. I don't see how. Any answers will be heloful

Bonnie, learning the functions of some groups, and becoming aware of existing practices on Gather can be difficult (at best) for newer members. So, you may be unaware that an official Gather Group exists for the publication of suggestions. This group is owned by Gather, and is regularly monitored by Gather Management.

The URL for that group is improve.gather.com, and the group name is Building a Better Gather.

Your ideas, and enthusiasm, are much appreciated by other members like me!

I am a member of that group and noticed an article of mine is featured, but there is no comment on it from gather mgmt.

Also I have posted other articles to that group that are not there and the group has many rants. I wanted a group organized with our suggestions.

Bonnie, I have received assurances from many Gather staff members that all articles in the Building a Better Gather group are regularly reviewed by Gather management. They may not always have the time, or need, to comment on them all, but I am confident that the suggestions are noted, and appropriate action is taken. As I had expressed to you previously, in my opinion, having two groups with duplicitous purposes would confuse new members, and potentially reduce the number of innovative ideas making their way to Gather staff members. It would be great if there was some means of organizing the Building a Better Gather group (among others), as it would allow for easier recognition of suggestions.

I invited Tom Gerace to the group. Not really sure if they are checking it out or not. I am keeping the group content limited to suggestions so maybe the group link can be checked or sent to them or added to the Build a better gather group for their perusal.
