I don't really have a bad credit, but the credit bureau messed up and put bad credit on our credit reports, and we almost lost our mortgage due to that false report. Does that count? Do you want to hear about it?

Fran - I know what you mean, a credit card put a levy on my bank acct and I found a free online forum and posted about it, but they gave me such great advice that I found it worth sharing. My only option to stop that credit card from taking my children's SSI funds was to file bankruptcy.

It was a credit card from 15 years prior, which surprised me since it was no longer on my credit report and I thought the time frame had passed. Seems if they look into your credit history they get more time, or something like that. I need to find that website and share it with others.

Sounds good. I have no official credit problems yet, except for being WAY over-extended -- which, I guess, makes me pretty much like every OTHER American! But it'd be good to know whatever tips others have for dealing with it all.

I went through a bankruptcy and foreclosure about fifteen years ago when my ex was out of work for an extended period of time. Not fun, but not the end of the world, I was glad to discover.

yeah we all get overextended sometimes I am right now beyond my limit but obly by littel but with living on Social security you can'rt do much after rent and utilities you have little left and everything costs money to live . I am seelking a job I am healthy and able so maybe that's my solution for it. getting all caught up. I want to get rid of the debt buut want to keep the one great credit card I have. Thaey have been good to me in the past and sometimes you need emergency cash and that's what i will keep it for.when you had to drop out of high school and work to support yourself and not finish school they want a diploma to get a job and what is it fopr ,certainly not to show how smart you are or if you can handle a job. You can get a lot of education on the outside of school,if you study and read on your won. But some colleges I know give you credit for what you have learned in life. that's great I think but I had to quit in 11th grade to work because of so many in our family,so I had no choice and then marriage and kids. who had time to study then. anyway it is always the financilal thing that will get to you sometimes. I thought combining all the bills together might help and take away the finance charges and fees and that way I will only be paying back what i oweand that would make a big difference. but I would love to have a card with the lowest APR if I could find one. thanks Bonnie for that info

sorry for all the typo's but this new keyboard is much different from the old one and I am used to using white with black lettering and now it is the other way around and hard to get used to after 4 years, lol
