Miantinomo-(1600-1643)-tried to orginize an intertribal resistance to English collonists and with a speech he exhorted the Montauks of Long Island New York to join him.For his efforts.They were unseccesful though they were,he was executed by the colonial government's Mohegan allies.

I found this interesting from back in the 1600's about a Indian that tried but did not win.

In geology there is the "Law of Universality" which states that what we observe in our own time, we can expect to have been able to observe in the past. We often surprised to hear of people doing the same stuff, good and bad,long ago that we hear on the nightly news. People did not care to be subjugated in 1600 anymore than they do now.
