The Mysteries of North Point Park

North Point Park was planned to open in the summer of 2004. It was part of the Big Dig project. The Green Line was constructed to go underground after the Science Park Station. To green up the area, this park was planned.

At the beginning of this summer, there were paper fliers posted around the park advertising that it would be opening soon...no date. It is now the end of summer 2006, and still, the park shows no signs of opening. Oh, there are workers there every week doing something. Usually I see them keeping up the landscaping.

I live near North Point Park and (shhhh....) have found ways to get into the park from time to time. Some weekends they have left the gates wide open. It's a gorgeous place! As far as I can tell, they have to finish up some piping for some fountains in the playground area. The playground equipment is awesome! But, by the looks, it was new 2 years ago. The equipment is getting quite weathered, which is a shame since they haven't been able to be used. The rubberized mats they have below the playground equipment is fun to walk on. But it is getting stained from the dirt off the equipment. All in all, by the time they open the park, everything is going to look well worn and used!

They bill the park as a skateboard park, but I have seen no signs of an area for skateboarders. Some of the paths are gravel which, I assume, is to help keep skateboards to a designated area so walkers can enjoy the park, too. If they still have to build an area for skateboarders, it's going to take at least another year.

What a waste to put such a glorious place behind bars. I don't understand why they can't just fence off the part they still need to work on and let people enjoy the walking paths. I plan on enjoying the paths with my dogs this weekend....as soon as the sun shows itself. fileId:3096224743900099;size:inter;

Does anyone know why my font changes in the middle of an article? It's nothing I'm doing on my end -- this I have double and triple checked. It seems to happen when I add images.

The HTML source of this page shows that the small font text falls out of the closing "span" and "font" tags. I don't know why this is the case. Perhaps if you try and edit the article; cut the text and past it say before the period of the previous sentence, that might work.

Pyrrhonian, the interesting thing is, when I go in to edit the article, there is no change in the font. I did cut and paste back in some of the text I knew was effected, but nothing changed. I wonder if it is my browser because I don't see others having a similar problem.

This is right next to the Science Park stop. I am currently in temporary housing in Cambridge. I relocated here from St. Louis. I'll be closing on my house in Stoughton next week. I didn't want to have to worry about updating my profile after I moved in, so I just said that I lived in Stoughton. Sorry for the confusion.
