Doc's Theory of Anthro-Sociological Perspective
In the Middle Ages & the Renaissance those people with intestinal fortitude, a sense of adventure & some way of gaining support, who were also loners, adventurers & had the courage to face up to adversity & danger went into the unknown.
People like Marco Polo, the Welsh Prince Madoc, Eric the Red, Christopher Columbus, Walter Raleigh, Francis Drake, Magellan, etc. all were of this breed. They were the "mavericks" of their societies. They were what I call the wolves.
After they went somewhere others followed & here in the "new world" the frontiers were pushd back bit by bit. People like the "Pilgrims," the Dutch settlers of Long Island, the Spaniards in Central America & the Caribbean, the French in Canada, etc. settled in & they were the ones who brought civilization to the frontiers. These were the dogs.
After the dogs had come & made things safe, the ones who came later to capitalize upon the efforts & thus thrive with little work compared to the settlers arrived. These people were what I call the sheep. They had no guts, they would not fight for their right to exist.
The frontiers with the inherent dangers no longer exist. Wolves & dogs are no longer needed, at least not many & not too often. The sheep are now the majority. They want to de-fang the wolves & dogs and then impose their artificial social mores upon them.
No way! I, for one, will not allow my fangs to be pulled! Many, many others of my ilk also refuse to lie down & rollover for these sheep to walk over us. We will maintain our dignity, our honor & our ability to think as free people. Tell those like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Bryant Gumble, Ted Turner, etc. to back off….the wolves & dogs will still bite, will still fight & will still win despite the efforts to quell them! People like Dick Meadows, Dick Marcinko, Tommy Franks, Teddy Roosevelt, Douglas MacArthur, Harry Truman, Franklin Roosevelt, John Glen, Sgt. York, Pappy Boyington, John F. Kennedy, etc. all were not sheep! They stood up for & acted upon their beliefs as do I an others like me.
Go back to your pens sheep where you can be safe! The dogs will protect you from the wild animals but never ever attempt to put us away nor attempt to eradicate us! The retribution for such actions would be terrible!

Part of our job as stewards is to monitor our defenders.
I own a Pyrennees/Anatolian mix dog who weighs 118 pounds and is a VERY good watch dog. She is very single minded about her job and is not always able to tell an actual threat from someone who is just a little pushy. It is my responsibility to see that she doesn't harm any innocents in her efforts to keep us safe.
Dogs who bite visitors and Wolves who take too many sheep have to be put down.
History is the lesson we must learn if we are to go forward (or even continue) as a species.
FDR let loose the dogs of war to help save the world from the fascists, haveing exausted all other possibilities. He died within days of leading our nation, together with the rest of the free world to victory within 5 years of entering that war.
George the Second?
Here I came to this thread because the (misleading) title indicated that it was all about the fascinating subjects of sociology and anthropology, only to find another liberal-bashing tract. So much for truth in advertising!
There goes a minute of my life that I'll never get back.
