This recipe is super easy. It's one I use a lot when I have an unexpected guest or need to whip up something for a meeting somewhere.
The basic recipe is:
1 block of Cream Cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
Put that in a bowl and beat until mixed very well and creamy. Then, fold in a 8 oz tub of cool whip.
Now, you have a cheese cake mixture, that you could put in a pie crust, on nilla crackers in muffin wrappers or just put the bowl in the refrigerator for an hour.
However, before you refrigerate, you can add your own whatever to this recipe. I fold in blue berries on the 4th of July and top with strawberries. At Christmas, I crush up candy canes, put some in and some on top. At Thanksgiving, I stir in a half can of pumpkin. You can chop up an apple and top with walnuts.
The possibilities for a great dessert are endless here. I've even whipped up a batch and had it on graham crackers. This is a time saver, no baking just whip and create. So, if you want a handy fast dessert, keep this recipe.

I love your suggestion of crushing up candy canes and putting them in it and on top. I never would have thought about candy cane cheesecake but my mouth waters thinking about it!
