Sometimes you open your eyes, but there is only darkness
Is it night, or has the light been sucked from the day time?
You search for a light, any light, to validate your existence
But no light deems you worthy of illuminating you this day
Outside you go to seek acknowledgement from the weather
But the elements join the conspiracy to keep you in the dark
Nature offers you only a wet chill with no warmth or comfort
You have deviated from your normal lighted world of warmth
There is nothing welcoming in this place of damp eternal night
Aimlessly searching for the portal back, the ruby slippers
Accepting this fate you understand you brought yourself here
So you close your eyes and focus on returning to light tomorrow

Good one.
If ANYONE has ideas email me at rich(at)richsad.com and see my accomplishments at http://www.richsad.com/about_rich.html
BTW, writing this lifted me out of the depression. After all, I put instructions right in the poem how to get out!
So where is the light, certainly not on the "Right"
Thanks Rich,
Very nice poem, and good luck on the job scene.
