The Book It to Bermuda Book Review Contest Entry Guidelines

Entries must:

- Be 750 words maximum

- Be in English

- Not contain overly violent or sexually graphic material (no erotica)

      - Not contain material that violates copyright laws

- Contain properly cited material, if applicable

- Be previously unpublished (except on Gather.com)

*Only one entry permitted per person. Entrants are encouraged to include the book jacket of the book being reviewed.

Submission Guidelines:

1) Before you submit your entry, you must become a member of the Book Reviews Group (bookreviews.gather.com). Click the button below to join:

2) To submit your entry, simply publish it to the Book Reviews Group on Gather. To submit an entry, follow these steps:

• Click on the "Publish" tab on the upper right-hand side of the Gather.com homepage
• Click on "Publish an Article"
• Insert your book review and upload the book jacket JPEG (if applicable)
• Add the tag "Book Review Contest" (along with the tags of your choosing) in the "Add Tags" Section on the lower portion of the page
• Under "Who Can View My Article," click "Everyone" and then "Book Reviews Group" - if you don't see the group on the list of groups you can publish to, you have not properly joined the group
• Click "Preview" to see your review as it will appear on Gather.com
• Click the "Publish" button on the bottom of the page

4) Each contest submission will be "live" on the Gather site within the Book Reviews Group from the date submitted until the end of the contest period. During this period, Gather members will read and rate the entries, and 10 finalists will be chosen based on a standard weighted formula including average rating and number of votes.

5) At the end of the entry period, all entries that were submitted to the contest will be eligible for a space in the Top 10 Finalists group. Those selections will then be re-published and a guest judge will select a final winner.

6) Winner will be announced on Gather.com.

7) Writers may only submit one original entry. 

8) Entrants must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

Voting deadline: 11:59 PM ET, Friday, September 29, 2006
10 finalists announced: Monday, October 2, 2006
