If all we have is our intellectual, financial, or artistic elitism defended by a transitional object of consciousness called the "ego", how can we grow to know our own purpose and answer the question, "Who am I?"
And if birth is naked--there truly is no reincarnation, no effects of karmic action on the soul--and death takes away all, including the illusion of an afterlife, why do we need to defend such a monstrous ego, or attempt to reduce it futilely in little karmic chunks, like banking transactions.
Your final statement in this haiku sums up the highest wisdom of the perennial philosophy: "Be ordinary." That is to say, risk ego reduction IN DEPTH. Attempt to answer the great metaphysical questions of life--as well as meeting one's own creaturely needs--with humility. Humility is the answer \.
And you are writing tighter and more compressed than ever, my friend.
