It was a great yard saling day. I decided to leave my normal stomping grounds of Garner, NC and check out the Cary, NC area. (Richer neighborhoods) It was a wonderful 65 degrees when I stepped out the door this morning, coffee cup in hand, pocket full of ones, fives and quarters, I was ready to go. It was 6:55am when I pulled out onto the road. It took me a full 20 minutes to find my first yard sale. I was starting to really get depressed, thinking it was going to be another slim pickin' weekend...but after my first yardsale finding 3 items I relaxed and enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. Here are my finds...

This is a beautifully hand painted Portuguese Pottery basket. Its signed on the bottom. I think they are fairly common but for $1 I had to get it. It's in perfect shape.

Antique Daher Ware Tin Tray that was made in England. I paid $4 for it, which is a little higher than I wanted to pay, mostly because she sold me other items for much cheaper than I was willing to pay. :) I should still make a profit on this.

26 antique Hat pins for $5... came in the OLD original Band aid tin Can.

Tile Coffee Signs for your breakfast nook. Wood Trim. They were $1 each.

Crabs GATHER here Sign ... Made me think of you guys! Not because your Crabby! But because it said GATHER. :) Life is crazy now and I HAVE been a little crabby lately. ha ha...

Disney Store Tigger Tall Coffee Mug. 50 cents

Dancing Frogs Bronze Candleabra for $1... Frogs are very collectible.

Cast Iron Monkey Bank. I believe this is a reproduction but still very cool and it works! I paid $5.

Childs John Deere Place setting I paid $1 for all three pieces.

Metal Thomas the Train Engine I paid 25cents for this and might save until I have more pieces but they are pretty collectible.

Large Blue Sailboat for $4. I really like this but I picked it up to resell it. Its in great condition!

Antique Milk Glass Cake Plate. I paid $1 for it.

I love this Cape Hattaras Lighthouse Clock. Its big and rustic looking. I paid $5 for it!

Lenox NIB Winter Platter... retails for $43 and I paid $5 for it. One just sold on Ebay for $26... I hope this does just as well. :)
I will be working on listing these items all evening. If you want to check them out on Ebay... my seller ID is pdfreeth. Thanks for looking at my finds!

I realize this isn't normal.
Pam, thank you for doing these articles. I look forward to them every week.
This week I fixed my 'haiku' phone with an eBay transplant. Athough my lost haiku are still on the phone pieces now in formaldyhide...
The Tigger mug is sweet!
I just checked on your ebay auctions. Looks like youa already doubled the cost of the Lenox Platter. WTG Good Luck onthe other items.
Paula, I always wonder which item will be the first to get a bid. That one was a winner for sure. I have NEVER lost money on a Lenox piece. I have gotten little tiny Oyster dishes (hold one Oyster each) and thought... "These may not sell." But I had paid $1 for four of them and thought it was worth the try and they sold for $12! SO I see Lenox and I buy it. This was great because it had the box too and the stickers still on it.
DM and Shelley, That Tigger mug is really cute. The color is like the inside of the mug picture. The first picture didn't come out right. It is a vibrant Periwinkle blue. Tigger Rocks anyways!
DM. We will sell another Gather mug for Charity next month and the last one near Christmas. Look for it!
We did find a Coleman fire pit thing this summer for $20.00 . It was like brand new. We've had some nice fires in it.
I usually just don't have the money with me when I see a sale. That is one of the disadvantages of having your money direct deposited.
I like the frog candlesticks enough to have paid retail for them before (quite spendy).
We too found something for the coffee room, a clock with coffee cups everywhere there should be a number, wordlessly saying "It's always coffee time."
Del, I love looking at other peoples finds so definitely let me know when you are up and selling!
Ron, I wish more people would do articles like we do on here. I love looking at the finds too.
Paula, I would LOVE to find one of those fire place thingies for outside. I came across one but they wanted 50 for it and I couldn't do that but 20 is very doable. Good luck in your future yardsaling! Let us know what you find.
Dawn, Thanks and I do think of it as a treasure hunt. I get excited every Saturday morning when I climb into my van just before 7am. :)
