I Hear Iran in October Is Nice

The trip my father and I have planned for Iran is now a virtually certainty, as we just received final visa approval from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I haven't been this excited about something since my wife said she would marry me!

Now let's just hope all hell doesn't break lose over the skies of Iran whilst father and I are there. That's not too much to ask, eh?

Be sure to take some pictures of their nuclear facilities! CNN should reimburse your plane tickets for some decent shots :)

You'll probably be safer inside Iran than just about anywhere else in the Middle-East right now. This should be a fascinating and enlightening trip!

If you get the chance, Persepolis(?) is worth a visit. If you like history and all that is. At least it was nice when I was there back in the '70's anyway. Most of my time was spent in Shiraz, just before the revolution, and I found most people very friendly then. Keep safe, and have a good time.

Oh yeah, John S. Persepolis and Pasargardae are on the itinerary, so is Behistun (hopefully) and ancient Susa.
