The online environment magazine Grist.org just interviewed me and some other environment reporters on objectivity and passion in covering the fate of the Earth. Worthwhile reading, although so much more to say!
And the 72-year-old National Association of Science Writers just conferred its Science in Society Journalism Award in broadcast on "Arctic Rush," the fine documentary on the transforming Arctic aired recently by Discovery-Times Channel. The film, part of a special New York Times print, Web, and TV package on Arctic changes, was conceived by Craig Duff and me and produced, shot, and directed by Craig.
The film was part of a series on Arctic change and relates to my new book, "The North Pole Was Here." Read chapter one online here: www.nytimes.com/learning/globalwarming
