What Do You Do When You Can't Get Through

As you've probably heard or seen, there have been a lot of posting problems, slow loading and other glitches on gather within the last few days. For a while yesterday, I really let it get to me. I clicked "post" repeatedly, tapped the mouse, and said "darn" to no avail.

But I finally decided to accept what I can't change. Since yesterday afternoon I've been writing my articles and comments in Word and pasting them onto gather when I can. I've also left the computer and did several small chores around the house while waiting for gather to let me in/let me post. Maybe the site is trying to tell me something.

For those who have experienced the same problems "what do you do when you can't get through?"

Linda, I havent had any problems posting. If I may suggest you clean out your temporary files and cache. Sometimes that haelps when my puter acts like that. I have a program that will do this for you. If you like email me and I will send you it.
You can also do it in your settings.

I did "disk cleanup" and "defrag" yesterday but it didn't help. I'll send you my email if you think your program will work better.

I had some problems as well yesterday, but they seem fine today. When I can't get on....I do the things I SHOULD have been doing anyway. Ugh....:)

I believe most of the problems are with Gather. It is probably growing too fast to keep up with. Hopefully it will get better.

I have had several times when I wasn't able to post so I just found something else to do for a while. It never lasts long.

I had the same problem yesterday also...save my stuff on wordpad and then copy & paste it here to post...thankful for that as i left stuff in word pad, until the page i posted finally went through, guess there are many of us trying to post at the same time, and system is trying to keep up..

*sigh* Unfortunately Linda this has happened to me on several occasions and that was just TODAY! Well, I too let it get to me but not for long. I went about my regular day posting on various other boards and checked my email. When I thought it was SAFE (LOL) to post on Gather that's when I signed back in and regularly decided to post again. Don't feel bad or discouraged if you can't get through, just continue to copy & paste and everything will be okay. :-)

Yes, It was acting slow I always find something else to do I was doing laundry in between time
