Death is as birth. We celebrate birth, let's accept death. Movies, books, even religious teachings cause us to fear the inevitable. I don't fear my own death. I am concerned about my loved ones figuring out where to find their missing socks, remembering to feed the cats, missing me. And of course I dread being left here without my loved ones. Expecting their call long after they have passed from this earth. I once believed that I would not survive the death of my father. It was a childhood fear that woke me from nightmares. He has been gone now for 15 years, then my mother, I am parentless, yet still able to survive. The passing of my best friend still bothers me 18 months later, I want to call her. But I don't fear where they have gone. I just miss them. I don't want my kids to fear death. They have been exposed to the usual horror movies, etc. They have exciting lives to carry out without the burden of fearing the inevitable.

Over all I've had a pretty good life and I've done most of the things I've wanted to do. Sure there's always more to do but when your time comes it comes.
